Divya's POV
" Aapko paata hai na, Appa. Mujhe shaadi nahi kerni abhi. Mujhe aapni sapno ko puri kerni hai pehle." (You know, Dad, I don't want to marry now, don't you? I want to fulfill my dreams at first.) I said to my dad about my opinion.
" Lekin beta, aapko ek na ek din shaadi to kerni hi hogi na?" (But dear, you have to marry one day.) He said.
" Kyun, appa? Kyun mujhe shaadi kerni hi hogi?! Kyun main akele apni Zindegi nahi jee sakti?" (Why, Dad? Why do I have to marry? Why can't I live my life alone?) I asked him.
" Kyun ki tum ek ladki ho, Diva." (Cause you're a girl, Diva.) My mom said.
" To Kya hua, Amma?" (So what, Mom?) I asked.
" To tum akele nahi reh sakti. Mujhe hamesha tumhare lie tension hote rehtay hai." (So you can't live alone. I am always tensed about you.) Mom said.
" Lekin kyun, Amma?" (But why, Mom?) I asked her.
" Kyun ki ladkiya kahi bhi safe nahi hai. Hum to sare zindegi tumhare sath nahi rahenge, Diva. Duniya badi kamena hai. Tumhe akele nahi chodega. Ager tumhare sath koyi hoga tumhare khayaal rakhne k liye to humari chinta thori kaam hogi." (Cause girls are never safe. We won't be with you forever, Diva. This world is so cruel. They won't leave you alone. If there will be someone who will always be there to take care of you then our tension will be a bit reduced.) Mom said.
" Amma, iski kya guarantee hai k safety k liye aap jis pe bharosa kerke mujhe Shaadi kerwa rahi ho woh mujhe hurt nahi karega? Iss baat ki Kya guarantee hai k woh mujhe torture nahi karega? Har roz newspaper mai hazaro domestic violence k news aati hai. To Iss baat ki koyi guarantee hai k main uske sath safe rahungi? Nahi na? Aap future ki guarantee nahi de saktay, Amma. Humhe nahi paata ki kaab Kya honge. To kyun itna pareshaan ho rahe hain aap? Zindegi ki koyi guarantee nahi hai, Amma. Iska Matlab yeh thori nah hai k hum jeena hi chod dain!! Hum galaat nahi hai, Amma. Galaat hai hamare soch. Jiske zangeer ne humhe band k rakkha hai. Humhe isko torna hai, Amma. Mujhe apni Zindegi apni tareeke se jeena hai. Mujhe apni freedom chahiye. Mujhe apni Zindegi jeene dijiye, Amma. Mujhe bhi iss zangeer main maat bando. Main apni sapno ko saach kerna chahti hoon, Amma." (Mom, is there any guarantee that the person whom you are trusting for getting me married with won't hurt me? Can you guarantee that he won't torture me? There are thousands of news about domestic violence in newspaper everyday. Then is there any guarantee that I can be safe with him? No, right? You can't guarantee future, Mom. We don't know what will happen in future. Then why are you too much tensed? Life has no guarantee. That doesn't mean we will leave living our life. We are not wrong, Mom. Our thoughts are wrong. This shackles has tied us. We have to break it, Mom. I want to live my life in my ways. I want my freedom. Let me live my life, Mom. Don't tie me in this shackles. I want to make my dreams true.) I said. My parents looked at each other. Then both of them sighed.
" Tum itni ziddi kyun ho?" (Why are you too stubborn?) Appa asked me. I chuckled.
" Kiski beti Hoon main?" (Whose daughter am I?) I asked. They shook their head. I laughed again. " Mujhe abhi der ho rahi hai, flight k liye. Main 4 din main wapas aajaungi." (I am getting late now for the flight. I will be back in for days.) I said. I hugged them both.
" God bless you." Dad said. " Take care."
" Sure." I said and came out with my luggage. I was going to Pune taking the flight.
As soon as I reached the airport I found people around looking at me with a look. I know still people here has a negative thought about girls being a pilot. I do not care about it. I put on my sunglass. I let them see they couldn't effect me at all. I reached near the office and I found a gathering.
