I sat in the back of Maria's car, fingering the piece of plastic. I can't believe that Fury made me an official Avenger.

Within a month and a half, my life changed. I discovered my powers, moved across the country, had my apartment blown up, discovered that my mother was working for an Russian criminal organization, joined the Avengers and started dating Captain America. I'm surprised that I'm managing to keep my head on straight for it all.

"This is it, Emily. Welcome to the team. Give the team my regards." She says as I open the door and wave, stepping out onto the sidewalk.

I stick the card into my back pocket before walking into the building, nodding hello to the person at the front desk. I didn't leave the tower much, so I didn't get to see who worked at the front desk much. They probably don't even know I exist. The elevator ride went quickly before the door opens, revealing the Avengers yelling at each other.

"I told you Point Break-"

"I don't care, Stark, I want-"

"I don't care what you want-"

The guys are all arguing about something, clearly it's important. I walk around the corner, seeing a broken table and Thor, Steve, Tony and everybody else yelling at each other. Natasha and Bucky were standing away from the group, amused looks on their face. They begin to jumble their voices together before I feel a headache coming along. Especially with Thor's booming voice. The yelling continues, Thor only getting louder, which leads to Tony getting louder. I could see that Steve was trying to be a mediator, but he was failing. Epically.

Figures. Leave a woman to do it.

"Boys, boys, fighting over me?" I walk up to Steve, wrapping an arm around his shoulder and dragging it around to put my hand on his other shoulder. "How many times do I need to tell you there's enough of me to go around?" Steve wraps an arm firmly around my waist, pulling me to him. Oh, little Steve is a little jealous. Good thing I'm his. "What's the argument about now? The testosterone is killing me."

Thor's face falls before he takes my hand, pressing a kiss to it. "I apologize, Lady Blake. It was-"

"Point Break here thought it would be okay to break the dining room table because we didn't have any pop tarts." I give Thor a look before Tony sighs. "I told him that I wasn't made of money." This time, I give Tony the look. He's practically pissing money.

"Thor, no more breaking tables. Poptarts are literally sold in every store. Tony, fix the table. Steve, I'll see you later." I give him a kiss on the cheek before walking off to the elevator, heading up for a good nights sleep. I'll tell everyone the news tomorrow.

I stood in the closet, looking around and trying to find something to wear. It was warm outside, so it would be perfect weather for a dress. I don't want to be too fancy though, just in case that Steve wasn't taking this seriously. Why wouldn't he be taking it seriously?

Godamn it, Emily. Stop overthinking and find something to wear.

I find a simple black dress, something not too fancy but it was still cute. Perfect. I pair it with a nice looking pair of flats along with a simple natural eye. I wasn't going to go over the top, after all, this is dinner with a man that I already decided that I liked. After all, there was nothing at stake here. Unless Steve asks me to be his girlfriend.

You're doing it again.

I hear a simple tap at the door before I walked over, seeing Steve standing there with a bouquet of roses. My favorite. "Steve." I say, walking forward and giving him a kiss. "These are my favorite, how would you know?" He only shrugs before I walk inside, placing them on the table. I'll put them in water when we get back. I walked back to him, managing to check him out in the process. God, he was fucking hot.

"Ready to go?" He holds out his arm before I slip my purse onto my arm before taking his. Steve's such a gentleman, what did I do to deserve this?

He took his car and started driving around town, pulling up to a small building. There wasn't any cars there. Was it closed? "Is it closed?"

"I don't think so, Em." He says, kissing my cheek before undoing his seatbelt. This is weird. We get out of the car before we walk into the building and seeing somebody at the seating podium.

"Good evening, Captain. Table for two?" They say before walking us to a table, one that was lit with a candle and had a boquet of roses on it, also. "Here's a menu. What may I get you for a drink?" The woman says, smiling sweetly at both of us.

Steve looks at the menu before looking at her, smiling. "We'll take a bottle of your best wine. Thank you." With that, she walks away, Steve looking back at me.

"Steven Rogers, don't tell me you bought out this whole restaurant for this." He only nods before I make a small noise. Shame on me for thinking he wouldn't take this seriously. I looked at him, seeing the nice tux he was wearing. God, he's hot. "Well, I have news. I probably shouldn't hide this from you."

"Oh no, what is it? You're not a man, right?" Steve says, facepalming. I laugh before Steve looks back up at me. "What is it?"

"Steve, relax. It's this." I pull out my wallet and put my new Avenger card.

He picks it up with lingering fingers, reading it over before looking back at me. "Fury made you..." He says, before I nod back. "Fury made you an Avenger! Oh my god, Emily!" He says, leaning over and giving me a kiss.

"What happened to the Steve that didn't want me out at missions?"

"That Steve disappeared once I saw how you could handle yourself in the field. This Steve is proud of you and knows that you're going to be an amazing Avenger." I blush at him, revelling in the praise. "Did you tell anyone else?" I only shake my head before he laughs. "It's going to be fun telling them. Especially when I start to bring you to the official meetings."
