Dean
Never had Dean hated his alarm clock more than he did that morning. The shrill sound broke through his peaceful, sleepy state. It was quite possibly his least favourite sound in the world. It takes him a moment to pry his heavy eyes open.
Castiel groans, burying his face into their pillows. His black hair was sticking out everywhere, and judging by the muffled noises of protest, he wasn't planning on getting with Dean. Dean sighs, the blankets were warm and he really didn't want to leave it's comforts. But unfortunately, he had the usual busy day ahead of him. So, with much reluctance, he rolls out of the bed with a grunt.
"I hate mornings."
"Mm, okay Garfield." Cas murmurs, before falling back asleep.
Shaking his head at his boyfriend, Dean left the room and heads straight for the kitchen. Good Chuck did he need some coffee. The house was silent, Dean stumbles over one of Ben's many toys that were scattered down the hallway. Something else he would have to sort out.
He doesn't bother checking the text from Sam yet, no what he needed before anything was coffee. Strong coffee.
He had never been more tired in his life, every part of his body protested having to move and it took all his willpower to keep himself from turning around and curling back into bed with Cas. Back in the warm, soft bed... He shakes his head, a weak attempt to wake himself up.Only after his first sip of coffee did Dean look at his messages. Nothing from Sam, which was probably a good thing if Dean was being honest. No text meant nothing was wrong.
There was, however, a text from Crowley asking about when he needed to pick Ben up. Dean couldn't believe he was thinking this, but thank chuck for the blessed help that was Crowley. He fires off a reply, before collapsing into the bar stool while he waited for the caffeine to kick in.Ten minutes later and he really needed to move, but his limbs just felt so heavy...
"Squirrel! Good to see you're ready to face the day princess."
"Crowley, hey." Dean blearily rubs at his eyes. "Glad to see you." Good chuck, how the world had changed. He didn't hate Crowley, he was the godfather of his child after all, but there had been a time where he had... disliked him.
He certainly wouldn't have said that he was glad to see him then."Oh my chuck, Deano you're awfully nice this morning, what's wrong?"
Dean looks down into the black liquid in his cup. "I'm fine." He was exhausted. But there was no way that he was whining to freaking Crowley.
"And I'm God," Crowley hopes onto the barstool next to him. "So tell me, what's up?"
Dean shrugs, downing the rest of the coffee. "Just tired man, nothin' to it."
"Let me guess, your boyfriend is upset because of his brother... so you have to do everything here, look after both him and Ben, go to the academy and then everything else in between?"
Oh chuck did he hate Crowley sometimes. "What? No! Its nothing like that, its..." He falters, what was it? He hated to think it, but Crowley was right. He was simply exhausted.
"Oh?" Crowley raised an eyebrow at him.
Dean shakes his head. "Just... shut up."
~~~
Every muscle in his body seemed to protest the latest beating it was taking. Dean clenched his teeth, grunting as he forced his arms to pull himself up over the top of the wall.
For a moment, black spots cloud his vision as an overwhelming exhaustion washing through him. Then he was climbing down the over side, trying to push through the pain and worry as he always managed to do.
