Chapter 11 - Kotori's Pinch

Kotori's Thoughts:

*I thought it was going to be a usual Monday night for me. Getting home from school, working on not only my homework but also the costume designs that we will wear for our next live performance. I was wrong. I received a letter from overseas inviting me to enroll in a fashion school. Suddenly I felt mixed emotions. One part of me is happy that I got a big opportunity to study abroad. The other part of me is sad cause I will be leaving a great set of friends. How will they accept this? Especially Honoka-chan and Umi-chan. How will they react to this situation I'm in right now. I don't know what to do.*

Kotori received a letter from overseas. It was an invitation for her to study fashion design abroad. But her commitment to Muse is in the way. This makes her space out completely. She is having mix emotions and doesn't know what to do. Umi takes notice of this. She walks towards her girlfriend and stands behind her.

Umi: Kotori-chan is something bothering you?

Kotori: Oh hi Umi-chan. No nothing at all.

Umi: Don't lie to me. I know something is bothering you.

Kotori: I guess I have no choice but to tell you.

Umi: What is it?

Kotori: I received an invitation to study fashion design abroad.

Umi: What?!!! Does your mom know about this?

Kotori: Yes she does. However... I'm having a hard time finding a way how to tell the others about this. Especially Honoka-chan. We both know how sensitive she is.

Umi: You're right... The others might not understand at first. But with Honoka-chan it's a really different story. We don't know how will she react.

Kotori: It might end up like last time. And she might suddenly make a drastic decision like transferring to UTX Academy. That's what I am afraid of Umi-chan.

Umi: Then we will just have to tell her straight up. If we keep it a secret from it will hurt her more.

Unknown to them, Honoka's listening to their conversation all that time. She quickly barges in asks Kotori straight up.

Honoka: Kotori-chan, is it true that you are planning to leave and study overseas while we are still competing at Love Live?

Kotori: Y-yes Honoka-chan, it's true that I am going to study fashion designing abroad.

Umi: How long have you been listening to us Honoka-chan?

Honoka: Long enough to hear everything you two discussed it Umi-chan. Kotori-chan please reconsider. Don't go. Muse will not be the same if one member is missing.

Kotori: Honoka-chan please don't make it harder on me. Umi-chan is also sad that I am going to leave her.

Honoka: I see...... Are you going to tell the others?

Umi: Yes we both are.

Honoka: I thought so......

Umi: You're not thinking again about transferring to UTX are you?

Honoka: It depends on Kotori-chan's decision Umi-chan. If she stays, I'll stay. If she goes, then I will go.

Kotori: Honoka-chan...... I'm sorry...... I just can't decide on what to do right now. I need some time to think about it.

Honoka: Kotori-chan...... When you will ever get to decide for yourself? I'm sure you wouldn't join Muse if didn't ask permission from your mom.

Kotori: What? How did you know about that?

Honoka: I heard you two back then. It was after school hours. You're inside the school directress's's office. I was outside waiting for you so that we can do our homework together. That was a week before Umi-chan told me that she will confess her love for you.

Kotori: Did you know about this too Umi-chan?

Umi: No...... I was the Archery Club practicing.

Honoka: Don't worry Kotori-chan. Whatever your decision is I will respect it. I'll see you two at practice. Starts to walk away and cry.

Kotori: Honoka-chan...... 😭😭😭😭

Umi tries her best to comfort Kotori. She embraces her as she starts to cry herself. Unknown to them Hanayo overheard what the three had talked about. She immediately runs to the rooftop to tell the others.

Rin: What?!!!!

Maki: Not again!!!!

Nico: I knew that UTX bitch was a bad influence to Honoka!!!

Eli: Nico-chan shut up!!!

Nozomi: Do go on suspecting others just because those three are at it again.

Rin: This is not good nya......

Suddenly Honoka appears in front of them. And she's got an upset look on her face.

Honoka: What are you guys doing?! Shouldn't you be practicing by now?! Let's get started with it so I can go home at once!

They didn't budge. They stood there and didn't even moved an inch.

Honoka: If we're not going to practice that's fine with me! I'm going home!

She leaves them with tears suddenly flowing down her face. A sight that she doesn't want anybody to see. Especially Kotori and Umi.

Honoka: Oh and by the way Nico-chan!

Nico: What is it?!!!

Honoka: Don't you ever call my girlfriend a bitch!!! And if you ever lay even just one finger on her! I'm going to give you a beating you'll wish you rather be given a washi washi treatment by Nozomi-chan!

Nico was taken aback by what Honoka said. Causing her to stumble on the ground. She knows Honoka had just threatened her. And this made her think twice about pissing off Honoka.

Nico: *Note to self: Never piss off Honoka.*

Meanwhile Kotori is with Umi and both are headed for the rooftop to tell the others about her dilemma. As she tells them her predicament, Honoka is now walking towards the park. She sits down again on her favorite seat. She starts to cry and gets mad at herself. Once again a familiar figure shows up in front of her.

Honoka: Why does it seem that every time I come here. You always show up whenever I am feeling down.

Tsubasa: That's because we are really destined for each other. Mind telling me what happened with you this time?

Honoka: Sure Tsu-chan. I guess there's no point in hiding it from you anyway.

As Honoka tells Tsubasa what happened between her and her childhood friends. Kotori and Umi tells the others about their dilemma.

Eli: I see...... So that's why Honoka-chan looked so upset.

Umi: For now we just have to let things cool down a bit.

Maki: This is going to be a drag.

Hanayo: If things like this keeps popping up. We can never get focused on winning Love Live.

Rin: I hope things will get settled. Nya......

Nozomi: My cards are telling me that this will end in a peaceful manner.

Nozomi's prediction was spot on. The following morning, Honoka, Kotori, and Umi decided to talk with each other on the rooftop. Honoka was the first to apologize. Kotori and Umi followed suit for not telling her at once about the invitation. In the end, all three of them hugged each other as they cry.

(Author's Note: I sort of altered the original storyline of episode eleven I wanted to go with the original. But I decided to just change it.)
