Another two days have passed?!

Silver is still working, but it only feels like he just started!

I paced the basement floor anxiously and combe my fingers through my hair nervously. This feeling of anxiety was so foreign to me. It was as if my whole world was collapsing in a matter of seconds, hours, days!

"Glitchy Red. Doc would like to see you." A voice broke my wall of nerves and I whipped my head in the direction of the door. I saw Eyeless Jack standing at the top of the staircase and I smiled nervously.

"R-Really...? Am I in trouble...?" I joked pathetically and he kept quiet, not giving a response because that was what he did best. "Got it... I just gotta find out..." I sighed and walked past him.

I made my way up to Dr. Smiley's office and walked through the slightly ajar door. "Doc! It's me Red!" I called out and slowly closed the door behind me. "Come in Glitchy Red. Sit down in one of the chairs while I get things ready for you." Smiley nodded and slid on a pair of latex gloves.

"O-Okay...Why'd you call me in here?" I sat myself down in the designated chair and waited on him. "Well, I understand that you've been out and about, despite your injuries. I advised you against it, but of course, you saw things that were more important. Have you been experiencing any pain since that glitch has entered your body again?" He walked over from behind his desk and towards me with a stethoscope in his hand.

"Well... Yeah actually... Now, whenever he takes over completely, I lose consciousness for some reason and it bothers me. Silver has been the one experiencing most of the pain whenever him and Lost split though." I explained with a concerned from.

"Ah, I figured. Well... Your body is actually breaking apart... That glitch inside of you is corroding your bones and slowly killing you. I think I mentioned this in a much shorter version last time you were with me, but you will die Red, unfortunately. This isn't something you can control, and I'm sorry to say that your time is coming. Unlike you, your brother has most control over his glitch, so the pain he feels is the forced temporary removal he causes each time they split. Physical injuries that only last for so long. It comes with the fact that they share a mutual bond, unlike you." Dr. Smiley sighed and checked my heartbeat.

My gaze fell to the floor and I clenched my fists. "H-How long do you think I have...?" I asked quietly and kept my eyes glued to the floor. "If you take it easy, then you'll have at least a year or two. But if you don't rest what's already broken and give your body time to heal... Then I'd say a few months. I'm very sorry Red." He pulled the device away and started writing something.

"Your heartbeats have slowed down immensely. You've been lacking energy and losing focus easily, right?"

"Yes..."

"Doc!! Please let him go! We need to do something and I swear, he won't get hurt, he'll be under my care!" Silver barged into the room, which made me jumped. "Yeah! Silver's suuuuper responsible and they need to save Red's girlfriend!" Ben barged in right after him. "I SWEAR ON MY HONOR I WILL NOT LET RED DIE!!" Dark Link shouted as he shoved past the first two. "Yada yada, he'll most likely be okay, don't worry." Sonic sighed and walked through the nearly broken door.

Were they eavesdropping...?

They aren't very slick geez...

"Thanks for all the help Doc, but I gotta save the girl I love. I won't get hurt or anything like that, but I'll be sure to check in when we're done. Peace!" I grinned and waved before running past my friends and out into the hall.

"Mission success!! We retrieved Red!" Silver cheered and ran up beside me. "I got a hit on her location and I sent Lost to go check it out. We'll have her back in no time, so don't worry any longer!" He grinned and that made me smile more.

"Yo, we'll back you guys up, just in case anything goes wrong. You can count on us!" Sonic threw open the basement door and we all filed in. "Yeah, and you can use as many of my phones and games as you need to! I'll just steal new ones." Ben said with a little too much eagerness in his voice.

My friends have my back. I'm finally getting Y/n back...

But something about this seems a little too easy...

I don't know what it is...

Y/n is the only important person I need to think about.
