CAN YOU FEEL IT?

THAT'S MY SOUL.

CAN YOU HEAR IT?

THAT'S MY HEART.

"And I want you to have it, Y/n."

_____

"Y/n, I know you're here..." I muttered and stopped just before the building entrance. The good of my red hoodie was up to protect my already ruffled hair from the drizzle of rain. The black joggers that Silver had let me borrow were more comfortable than I expected and fit me perfectly. They even hid my leg from plain sight which was the most important thing to me.

I was outside the mansion for one reason only: to get a new bottle of soap. Yes, a bottle. I learned the hard way that bars of soap were not the way to go. I shuddered at the terrifying memory and let out a sigh.

"Back when I was new..."

I shook off my nerves and stared up at the tall, intimidating hotel building. This wasn't the store, obviously. I was here because something was calling me. It was probably a bad thing, but I had to check it out regardless. Some things I wanted to experience while I was still in control of my mind and body.

I walked inside the sliding doors and looked around. It was pristine and probably meant for people that were rich. The real reason I was here, was because I sensed Y/n's presence, somehow... I still didn't understand it, but it just happened.

"Sir? Do you need any service?" A lady behind a front desk asked me with a false smile. I could see the twitching muscles in her face and could tell she was struggling to keep the facade up.

I hate fake people like that.

I scoffed and shook my head. "No thank you, ma'am." I walked past her and towards a set of elevators. There weren't that many people around, but still too many for me to move around freely through the circuits. I had to wait for the perfect—

The lights flickered on and off briefly before completely turning off. One by one, people started to run around and panic. I chuckled a bit and pressed my hand against the elevator control panel.

"Bingo." I took advantage of the situation and closed my eyes shut. It was going to hurt like last night, but my curiosity had gotten the better of me. In mere seconds, my body phased through the grates and my physical form vanished. I became a conglomerate of red coding and zoomed through the circuits.

The highest floor! Go! Hurry!

"She's not there." I growled and clenched my teeth. I used all my strength to throw myself out of the circuits and flew into one of the elevators that was stuck and had stopped moving. I let out a loud groan as my back slammed into the doors.

Smoke surrounded my face and I held my eyes, the source of th toxic fumes.

Shit... I did it again!

I sat up against the elevator doors and panted quietly, one of my hands gripping my side that was also in pain. My eyes glossed over the small room until they picked up the sight of a young woman in the corner of the room.

Not just any woman though.

"Y/n?" I muttered and shifted into a more comfortable position, but one that gave me the ability to reach out for her.

Y/n was in the corner of the elevator, crying and rubbing her eyes frantically. She was doing so quietly, but I could still hear the cute hiccups that she was going through. Her shoes were on the floor beside her and her shirt had very curious stains splotched here and there‍ that came from who knows where.

"H-Hey, why are you crying...?" I extended my arm out to tap her or grab her attention somehow with a deep frown on my face, but she screamed at me while smacking my hand away.

"D-Don't touch me!"

I retracted and my nose scrunched up, the recoil from how startled I was kicking in because I had smacked my head on the elevator doors. I groaned and took shallow breaths. "At least... tell me—"

"No! Don't pretend like you care about me just because I'm vulnerable, Red! This is all your fault in the first place! Why are you even here?!" Y/n glared at me through her tears, her hands clenched tightly into fists and her breathing very uneven like mine. My eyes widened when I saw the discoloration on her neck and in those brief seconds, I completely stopped breathing from shock.

Everything was starting to come together.

My eyes left her features and trailed to the floor, an onslaught of heavy sadness and despair filling me from top to bottom.

She's right.

I did let this happen.

I wasn't fast enough to stop her.

"Y/n, I'm really sorry... I shouldn't have let this happen, I know... but what you said isn't true!" I reached out for her once again but hesitated, and quickly retracted it before looking away.

"We're still strangers... right? Let's start from there. I want us to be friends, but I keep screwing up..." I chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of my head while sighing shakily.

"I-I don't understand you... First you keep showing up, then you act like a complete asshole to me... Make up your damn mind Red!" She hissed and snapped at me once more.

I really care about you...

I don't know, but I just do...

Even if things start off slow, I want to see where we go.

"Friends, please? I want nothing more... I'll try to be kinder even if I'm not allowed to... I just know for a fact that I want you a part of my life." I spoke softly and gave her a sympathetic smile.

I was vulnerable too... That was the only chance I could truly voice how I felt.

But even then, I was still holding back the full truth. I could feel the window of opportunity closing as a searing pain burned through my body.

It ripped at my thoughts and clawed my nerves until I was numb. I was no longer in control anymore. He had recovered from the temporary electric shock.

"I-I'm sorry, Y/n..." I managed to just barely convey my message to her. Her eyes showed obvious confusion but that was quickly replaced with a scowl.

"Leave me alone."

Her words stung me deep down. But I was no longer present with her. My vision grew hazy and I blanked completely.

"Gladly." I rolled my eyes and disappeared through the currents once again.

"I'm going to kill you Red. Punishment for trying to kill me off."
