A/N: Hello Everyone! We're back to our regularly scheduled(unscheduled) program. Sorry it took so long the flashbacks in this chapter and the In Greyscale chapter I was working on were really fighting me.

First off, I revamped Black Diamond's design. I'll try to do the same for his sapphire form later. This will be put here and maybe a side by side with the original image in the other chapter.

Second, I am still accepting questions for a 2nd QNA (Author or Character questions are accepted) and the FAQ.

Lastly, the In Greyscale Chapter I'm working on will be the end of White and Black's quest to conquer Homeworld. Which will move us into what I will call the Genisis Era (Pre Era One). I have few ideas about what I'll explain about White and Black's relationship as well as fusion in that next section, but after all the purpose of the In Greyscale chapters is to shed more light on his relationship with the other diamonds (minus Pink for the most part).

As far as this next section of the season. I will start work on the next episode Adventures in Light Distortion the moment the side chapter is done. Which will hopefully come out in the next couple of days or even tonight if my creative mind and homework are willing.

So, enjoy the chapter I had fun with the non-episode parts. As always, I love all your comments, support for the story, and respectful criticism is always accepted. Thanks for sticking with me on this wild ride, and I hope that I can get the next chapter to you all soon.

P.S. I have an Ao3 account now and I'm thinking of adding it to my cross-post efforts. Let me know what you all think.

Everything felt nice for once.

Garnet and Black were slowly easing themselves back into their normal regards for each other. Little small gestures to express their affection that left Black practically winded every time. Gentle touches, occasional bouts of cuddling, dancing on the beach, small intricate desserts left with loving notes or poetry.

Oh, and Black's personal favorite that always left him dizzy and literally glowing from the overwhelming emotions...the way she would softly caress his gem when they laid together at night. Something so simple that left him with feelings he could explain and others that couldn't possibly be put into words.

But it made him nervous. If his arduously long life had made anything brutally clear it was that peace was an illusion. He found himself waiting for something to happen. So much so that he was stupidly pulling away, and he guessed today was the last day that he would get away with it.

Because here she was sitting next to him as he swished his legs through the lava flowing in his room within the temple. A shallow comfort considering the conversation that he knew was about to take place.

"You've been distant," Garnet started, her eyes trained on the listless molten magma, taking a seat next to him. It was little things at first. Like the way his eyes seemed to dim when she cupped his cheek. Snowballing into him sometimes getting up to leave the room entirely with glassy eyes.

He didn't want to see the crushed expression on her face or even the dim glint of curiosity that was bound to flicker in her gaze. Even if her face may not express it...everything else would, and after all the progress that they had made to get back to this point.

Black went to open his mouth to say something but the sinking feeling in his chest clung tighter. Practically forcing himself to turn around he whispered, "I-I'm sorry," as if he wanted no one to hear it. "I know I have been unfair, and I promise that I miss and want this just as much as you do...just as much as they do, but..."
