A/N: Hello everyone! Whatever time of day this update finds you I hope you enjoy it. This is the last of what I had drafted, so from here on out I'm starting from word count zero and up. You know I like chapters to be long so don't worry. Main story and the extra chapter with Carnelian and Amethyst will hopefully drop this week.

I would like to update at least three times a week over the summer, and hopefully we'll make it to season five. I have plans to make season five longer (It was great, but I personally wanted more out of it). So, you have that to look forward to.

This chapter comes with some art I drew a while back. This is a future Black Diamond prior to him meeting the Crystal Gems on Earth. I hope you like it.

"Trust me."

"And why should I do that? Especially when everything you have done has proven otherwise?"

"We want the same thing Black. Why is that so hard for you to believe?"

"Because you refuse to relinquish control! Everything has to be done your way!"

"You don't see it the way that I do."

"Please! Enlighten me White! Because you act as if I am beneath you! As if I'm not worthy of an explanation for anything!"

"We were meant to be one!"

"What are you even saying?"

"Don't you feel it! The unmistakable connection every time that we fuse. Grey Diamond is everything that neither of us are on our own."

"Ha....haha...Are you serious? So this is what this is about?! Your continued refusal to find purpose within yourself that doesn't involve me being bound to you every second of every moment."

"What else am I to do! You run off dreaming to be something that you're not!"

"That's not-"

"No! You sit around sleep and eating organic foods! You're not one of them! And if I must burn this entire planet to a crisp for you to understand that! I will!!"

"Like you know what our kind is supposed to be like. It's just you and me. The slightest thing that you believe to be an anomaly in that perfect world of yours insights irrationality.

".......Division will get us nowhere. Can't we just agree to disagree just for now? I know you're not foolish enough to believe that our division won't be exploited."

"...As unnecessary as your scathing comment was...I have to agree. I trust you...to an extent."

"So, let's finish this."

"Only then will we settle this."

_____________

A deathly aching chill rolled across the land both preserving and ending the stories of many on this humble planet.

And Black Diamond would give anything to be on the other side of the partly frozen ocean. It would surely be worth the risk. He could barely stand looking at White Diamond. The smile on her face lacked empathy and her resolve was stubborn and unflinching, and like wildfire his anger bore its feral teeth threatening to be destructive and all-consuming.

And that terrified him. The fact that he could disguise such rage weighed on him, but listening to his counter-part prattle on and on about whatever she thought needed to be done to end this war was annoying.
