Black Diamond

This chapter follows the past of White and Black Diamond. Writing more about their relationship has been an idea that I've played with for a while. Let me know what you think in the comments. Would you like me to continue these shorts?

I told you that there would be nothing left of you as long as you resisted.

"I can't do this with you anymore."

"Why Not!"

"You've made your choice! You chose them!"

"Well, it's not like you're making it easy. You keep holding onto your own delusions."

"Why is it delusional if I want something different than you!"

You become weaker and weaker by the second, yet you only have yourself to blame.

Holding onto my own beliefs is not a weakness. I will continue to fight you even if it means that there is nothing left of me.

Then that makes you a fool. You will falter eventually and when you do. I will be there to pick up the pieces and reforge you.

"We keep getting lost when we're Grey Diamond. It's like you're pushing me away...suppressing me."

What are you talking about Grey Diamond is us! You're being ridiculous!

"Safety and Status, they've branded you with foolish promises!"

"Black Diamond you're overreacting! Those gems were out of-"

"We built this empire together."

"I fully intend to step up to your challenge. I will fight for mine and my people's place in the empire I've built."

"I don't see the beauty of a world that does not want us."

"You just have to learn to appreciate the great things that lay underneath the turmoil."

We're in this fight together...right?

You bet it will be you and me till the end of time, and maybe even after that.

"Come on White what are you waiting for! You said we could explore the planet together." Black cheered. White simply rolled her eyes fighting to reciprocate her counterpart's bright grin. "For someone fighting a war, you really seem to love doing everything but what you are supposed to do." She scolded.

Black chose to ignore that comment climbing up a tree. Plucking some fruit from the tree and taking a bite before hanging from the tree by a newly shifted tail. White scoffed at the sight fighting off a scowl. Must he mimic the very creatures that we are at war with? "You're making that face again White. I would say that your face is going to wrinkle but we don't have those types of organic problems." Black commented, before biting the juicy fruit once more.

"And yet you insist on ruining your own perfection by taking on some of their ghastly features and indulging their inferior habits and primal needs. You should hold yourself to a higher standard than them. Don't forget what we're fighting for." Black stopped smiling.
