Within his room in the temple, Blare sat like he had for the past couple of days trying to psych himself up to leave this forgotten space in his mind. His body twitching as another wave of glitches traveled through his form from the continued stress. One particularly violent spasm forcing his arm back to its normal length. With a startled gasp, Blare's eyes squooze shut as he breathed in deeply attempting to force the arm to shrink. Sweat dripping down his forehead from the attempted compression.
Blare held his breath as his arm slowly began to reshape itself, but just as success was insight another wave of glitches.
"No!" Blare smacked the ground to ease his frustration. "I can't...I can't go out there like this. What if they see me?" He whispered flopping on to his back. Tears streamed down his face as his thoughts began to spiral.
"Oh no... with last week they could make the connection. I'll have to leave. I'll have to leave Steven," He panicked his body responding with mild glitches. "Wh-wha-at-t w-will th-th-they s-s-sa-ay?" He stuttered through another wave. His eyes wandering to the glittering white specs scattered like stars in the cave walls. They mocked him. He could still hear the distant sounds of her laughter even now.
He hated himself for still being affected by the idea of her, and it seemed like no matter what he did he couldn't fight the restraints. Now he was suffering from that weakness. He couldn't go out there like this. He needed to relax.
Closing his eyes Blare shakily coached himself through a series of deep breaths to relax his mind a little more before attempting to shift again. "Just breathe," he told himself. "If they saw something they would have confronted you by now. All you have to do is get up."
"Come on," his fist balled up as the light from his gem flickered slightly. Deep breath in, as the light traveled to his arms. A steady breath out, as the shrunk and the light shifted to his torso and legs. When the form of the Crystal Gem's beloved sapphire was back. Blare sat a little longer to make sure it stayed.

Steven on the other side of the temple door was marveling at his culinary creation. "That thing is too good for me to eat alone," Steven told himself still flopped over the counter. "It's a... Together Breakfast!" Steven exclaimed excited to have a name for his creation.
At that moment the temple door glowed in the center. Turning the door into a wall of black mist that filtered and wisped into the room. Steven sat up grinning as Blare stepped through.
"Good morning, Steven," He smiled, brushing off his clothes. Steven's smile grew as he hopped down scooping up the plate off the counter. "Behold my latest creation! Together breakfast," Steven presented the illustrious stack of waffles. "I'm glad you came out of the temple. Now I just need to get the other gems. " Steven cheered with a little dance.
Blare's shoulders shook covering his mouth before he finally started laughing. It appears that in his absence that Steven has gotten creative with his meals. "Steven, it looks wonderful, your creativity never ends does it," Blare chuckles, taking the plate from Steven's hands to inspect it. "I must say that is quite the dish you have prepared five stars." Blare smirked, playing along. Steven laughed at his proper tone and serious expression.
"Why thank you we only serve the best at Steven's" Steven replied, mimicking Blare's tone. The two made eye contact before both burst into laughter. "Alright let me get the forks for this amazing meal," Blare said walking into the kitchen.
