Chapter 22: Our Past

Do you know that phase where you want to listen to one song in a loop? Well, I do and I think I'm slowly annoying my family after listening to it over an hour straight www. But I really like Sanagara Bye Bye sung by Soraru so I can't help but listen to it many times now www. Anyway, I'll stop now and let you read the story. I hope you'll enjoy it~

Mafumafu knocked on Soraru's door as waited for him to open it for him.

He was worried about Soraru and didn't know wether Soraru would do something reckless again or not so he decided to come over.

"So-ra-ru-san~! Let me in~", Mafumafu shouted as he kept knocking loudly. Mafumafu was about to shout again but was interrupted when the door opened revealing a grumpy Soraru.

"I heard you already... Stop shouting so loudly...", Soraru said yawning as he let Mafumafu in. "It's your fault for making me worry!

I could be playing Kirby right now if I wanted to!", Mafumafu said pouting. "It's not my fault that you worry so much that you even decided to come over...", Soraru said not stepping aside but Mafumafu wouldn't go that easily.

"Yeah, but you were the one who told me that I should come over so you could ask me some questions or whatever! So let me in right now!", Mafumafu demanded as Soraru sighed and stepped aside letting Mafumafu in.

"I'd rather sleep right now, you know? Couldn't you have come at another time?", Soraru asked as he yawned. "Nope! And it's not like I totally want to be here right now either!

Like I said, Kirby is waiting for me!", Mafumafu crossed his arms pouting. But I did want to spend some time with you... Mafumafu thought. Not that he would tell Soraru though.

"So, what did you want to ask me?", Mafumafu asked as he let himself fall on Soraru's bed. Soraru just sighed before settling on sitting on the edge of the bed. Mafumafu looked up at Soraru to see a serious expression on his face.

"...Earlier, when Senra explained what the capsules were for and said that they could cure incurable diseases in the future you looked like...

Ugh... just let me be straight and ask you this. Do you have an incurable disease or not?", Soraru asked as Mafumafu looked at him in confusion before realizing it and giggling.

"W-what is it?", Soraru asked confused. "It's just that it's cute how you started to worry about me!", Mafumafu told him still giggling as Soraru started to blush. "S-shut up...

And that's what you get for worrying about people.", he muttered the last part.

"No, I don't have a disease. It's just that my.... stepmother always pretends for me to be another person and let's just say that now that I'm gone I just hope that she didn't try to find something to replace me like she... did with her deceased son.", Mafumafu explained as Soraru widened his eyes understanding.

"T-that's... pretty deep. Why did you tell me?", Soraru asked not understanding why Mafumafu would trust him enough to tell him about his circumstances. Mafumafu just smiled sadly as he shook his head.

"I have my own reasons... but now that I answered your question it's only fair for you to tell me too!", Mafumafu said as Soraru just shrugged nodding. "Sure. Ask anything.", Soraru said.

"Soraru-san... did you happen to have a childhood friend in the past who always played with you? Someone you protected since you were young and you promised to always stay together with?", Mafumafu asked suddenly serious.

Soraru was surprised by the sudden change of attitude of the younger male. He stayed quiet for a while before shaking his head. "No... I don't...", he answered and Mafumafu just smiled sadly at this tears threatening to fall down.
