Sean's POV
"Any idea where the photographer is?" Melody asked before we went inside.
"Nope. Which gives me ample time to tell you that you look gorgeous. Although I did not expect glitter or ruffles from you," I smirked and she blushed.
"I found this dress when I was in high school, and it's what the character Melody where's on her wedding day; since she's based on me."
"Well, you still look stunning."
"You don't look so bad yourself. Hey, do you have your vlog camera?"
"Of course I do. I've been vlogging all morning," I answered.
"Do you happen to have it on you?" She asked.
"It's in the car. Sorry, Clover."
"It's fine. There will be plenty of time for filming later. And anyway, the photographer found us."
"So she did," I commented as the young woman walked up to us.
"Mr. and Mrs. McLoughlin, did you have any ideas for the photos?" The photographer asked.
"I dunno, Mrs. McLoughlin, did we?" I asked, looking at my wife with a huge shit-eating grin on my face. Awhile later the photographer left to head to the reception and I was left alone with my bride.
"Do you need a minute to process everything or do you just wanna head to the reception now?" I asked gently, knowing that now that some of the excitement had worn off, Melody was probably a bit anxious.
"Would you mind kissing away all my troubles?" She asked, and I shook my head before taking her into my arms and kissing her. She deepened it, kissing me harder until I licked her bottom lip. That's when she pulled away.
"You have to wait a while before you get any of those kisses. Now come on, I wanna hold our son." She led me inside the room decorated primarily of silver with pops of green and purple. It looked stunning, but nothing beat Melody. To no one's surprise, Mark had to have the first word once everyone saw us.
"I'm so happy for you guys!" He grinned, engulfing both of us in a hug.
"Mark, Sean's too young to be a widow and so am I," Mel told him, out of breath.
"You're squishing us, dude," I added and he let us go, smiling sheepishly.
"Sorry..."
"It's fine," Melody laughed before looking at me. Hours passed and everyone was having an awesome time dancing and some were drinking. I couldn't keep my eyes off my bride for long. She just looked so beautiful. Dante didn't like being away from her either, but there were occasions where Melody would put him down and he'd crawl as fast as he could to me. The entire atmosphere was pure joy, and I relished every second of it.
Soon it was time for dinner which meant it was also time for speeches.
"Can I have everyone's attention?" Cheryl called out to the crowd who stopped talking to look at her.
"Thank you. I hate to interrupt all of you, but if you could all grab a drink and sit the hell down so I can tell you all about my daughter who has now changed her last name twice, that would be lovely." She waited a minute before continuing and Melody groaned at the mention of her name.
"Thank you for your cooperation; I appreciate it. Now, I am aware that this is usually the part where the father says a little something about the bride but he and I agreed it would be better if I did this since he met her once she was 16 and a lot had happened to her by then. Moving on, I'd like to thank all of you again for joining Melody and Sean on this perfect day. It means a lot. I also want to welcome Sean to the family; I hope you are ready for the amount of crazy that comes with it. Essentially, you have just signed your death warrant. Now for Melody. I can't tell you how proud I am of you. You have been fighting like Hell to be happy for as long as I can remember. You endured the death of your Grandmother, being homeless for over half a year, finding out about your Lyme, being diagnosed with depression, anxiety and PTSD, attempting suicide, finding out your depression was actually bipolar, discovering you were bisexual, your mental breakdown during your Senior Year, and being shot a little over a year ago just to name a few examples. You have overcome so much and you're still so young. But none of that is why we're here today. Today is a celebration of love, and I have never seen a love so pure as my daughter's love for Sean and vise versa. I have no doubt that your love for each other will last a lifetime, and it makes me so happy to see she's found someone who will love through all her crazy. So, raise a glass to the new Mr. and Mrs. McLoughlin," She finished before taking a drink.
