Melody's POV
It had been 4 months since Sean and I had seen each other in person, so naturally, I was bouncing off my walls in excitement. These last 4 months had been excruciating for a couple of reasons and Sean and I had been texting everyday for a minimum of 5 hours. Most nights before either he or I went to bed we'd call each other. We'd grown so close over these past few months and I couldn't wait to see him. I had Emma and Meghan over today to help me pack. Neither of them had been able to get the time off to come with me, but that was fine. I would be okay going to Washington by myself. I knew I'd explore the shit out of the town, whether Sean and Mark were there with me or not. It was an experience I was looking forward too, and Emma could tell I was having difficulties focusing.
"Mel! Calm down or you'll forget something!" She scolded me.
"But Mom!" I whined, throwing my head back.
"No buts! You are going cross-country, you can't forget things."
"Meghan, help?" I asked, giving her puppy dog eyes and pouting.
"Come on Emma, she's excited. She's going to see her boyfriend~."
"He's not my boyfriend, Meghan. We're just close friends."
"If you say so," Meghan rolled her eyes.
"Alright Mel, checklist. Do you have clothes?"
"Yes, for a week, just in case I'm indecisive."
"P.J.'s?"
"Yup."
"Toothbrush and paste? Deodorant? Dry shampoo?"
"Triple yes."
"Comb? Shaving cream and razor? Pain relievers? Contacts? Tail?"
"Yes to all the above."
"Phone, Ipad, Cortana, and all the chargers? Headphones and backup headphones?"
"Yup."
"Wallet, keys, wolf ears, tiny pillow, and Madeline? What about your tiny notebook and pen?"
"My wallet, keys, headphones, wolf ears, phone, tiny notebook and pen, tiny pillow, and Madeline are in my knapsack, as well as a tiny hidden water bottle and some snacks and a couple tampons. Everything else is in my suitcase and I even have some room left in it for souvenirs. I got this Emma."
"I guess you have everything then. Ticket?"
"Yes, I have my ticket. Are you done?"
"I can't think of anything else. I think you're ready to go tomorrow."
"Awesome. Thank you for doing this, guys. And thanks for taking care of the dogs and cats, Emma."
"Sure thing, dude. I love my godchildren."
"Ok, so I'm packed, my house is spotless, my dogs are outside and I have two hours to get to the airport. I guess I should go then? Get all checked in and shit?" I said, trying to remember if I missed anything.
"Sounds like your ready," Meghan smiled.
"Stay as long as you want, guys. Just make sure to lock the door before you leave. Oh, and Emma, you have the-"
"Spare key? Yes. Now go!"
"Go get your mans!" Meghan laughed. I rolled my eyes but grabbed my stuff, loaded up my car and made my way to the airport. I was early enough that it didn't take long to get checked in so I had time to kill. I didn't want to text Mark or Sean in case they were going through the long process of getting checked in too. I sighed, and let my anxiety have a bit of leeway, constantly checking the board to make sure I was where I was supposed to be. After about ten minutes of it, my phone buzzed.
