Melody's POV

Some time had passed, and I was back in America visiting my family and check in with my publisher. Somehow Sean had wormed his way into coming with me. It was the middle of October so I was too giddy to care about the logistics or anything other than the rapidly upcoming spoopy holiday. All I wanted to do was watch Halloween movies, go to every Halloween store imaginable or check out the Halloween section of normal stores. But first, I needed to visit the bathroom, which is why Sean and I were at my parent's house. And of course, I wanted to visit with my parents.

Sean's POV

"Hey, Cheryl, can I talk to you?" I asked once Melody left the room.

"Sure, what's up?"

"I actually need you and Justin," I admitted and she nodded, leading me upstairs where Justin was laying on the bed, playing on his phone. Cheryl took his phone and sat down on her side of the bed.

"Why'd you take my phone?"

"Time to be an adult, babe. Go on, Sean."

"Well, you know Melody and I have been together for two years now, and we live together and I love her to absolute pieces. But I think we're ready for the next step. Which is why I'm asking for her hand in marriage."

"Just make my little girl happy and keep her safe," Cheryl smiled and Justin nodded.

"Thank you," I sighed my relief before heading back downstairs to join Melody.

"Where'd you go?" She asked.

"Your mom wanted to show me something. I had to answer for the Genital Jousting video I did in 2016."

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry," She giggled.

"And I'm mortified. Anyway, where did you want to explore for Halloween stuff?"

"I have so much to show you," She said, her eyes lighting up and a huge smile gracing her face.

"Then lead the way, Love."

Melody's POV

Sean and I were currently exploring my hometown. I knew not a lot of people did much for Halloween in Rockland, but it was still important to me to check out what was done. We had started our journey in Damariscotta and checked out every town on the way to Rockland. I loved showing him Pumpkinfest, and while it wasn't Halloween, it was still a super fun time. But then, anytime spent with Sean was a good time.

"Hey, Sean?"

"Yeah, babe?"

"You do realize that come Halloween night, I'm dressing up like a 12 year old, forcing you to watch Hocus Pocus, Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride at the very least while passing out candy and I would very much appreciate it if you dressed up as well," I told him after we got back in the car from exploring Thomaston.

"I had a feeling we would be doing something of the sort, yes."

"Are you also aware that I love you?" I asked, taking a good look at his handsome face.

"I would hope so. We just had our two year anniversary and we live together. But did you know that I love you more than anybody has ever loved anybody else in the history of ever?"

"I don't think that's something that can be measured babe, but that's very sweet," I chuckled.

"Well it is, and I do."

"I believe you," I said, kissing his cheek.

"Melody?"

"Hm?"

"You missed," Sead told me before giving me a proper, loving kiss. I felt like I was the only girl in the world; born just to love this man.

"We should head to Rockland," I whispered.

"Yeah, show me the Halloween festivities in your hometown!"

We looked around for hours, but seeing as we couldn't find much after going through the entirety of my home town, Sean and I had decided to just take a walk on the beach and relax.

"Hey, Sean?"

"Yes, love?"

"It's been a Hell of a ride, hasn't it?"

"You mean today? Yeah, today has been exciting."

"No, I mean the past two years. Can you believe we've been together for two years now?"

"No, I can't. It seems like two weeks ago I met you and I asked you to be my girlfriend yesterday," He answered, hands in his pocket.

"I can't believe we've been together for so long either. But every moment has been perfect, I smiled, looking out to the ocean.

Sean's POV

Now's your chance, Sean. Just ask her.

"Hey, Clover?" I asked, growing nervous.

"Yeah, Shamrock?" She asked, turning to look at me.

"Melody, I can't tell you just how much these past two years have meant to me. Or how much I've loved you from the moment I met you. You are my everything, my perfect balance. And when I almost lost you a few months ago, I knew that I couldn't live without you," I started getting down on one knee. "So, that said, Melody Luna Lupine, will you do me the honor of marrying me?" I popped the question, showing her the silver band with green diamonds in the shape of a clover. Tears filled her contactless eyes and her hand went to her mouth. After what felt like an eternity, but was really only a few seconds, she answered.

"Of course I'll marry you, Sean." My heart exploded with happiness as I slid the band onto her left ring finger before kissing her.

"I love you so much, Clover," I whispered once we broke for air. "And I don't care what people say, Friday the 13th is the luckiest day of the year."

Melody's POV

He proposed to me. Holy shit, he proposed to me! He proposed to me and I said yes! We're getting married! I couldn't believe it. Sean had asked me to be Mrs. Sean McLoughlin and I had managed to say yes without sounding like a mess. Very nice. I'm proud.

"And I don't care what people say, Friday the 13th is the luckiest day of the year." I laughed.

"You did not just say that!" I giggled.

"I did because it's true."

"You are so fucking weird."

"You just agreed to marry me, so what does that say about you?"

"Is it too late to run away?" I joked.

"Yes, it is," He told me, holding me close by my hips, grinning like an idiot.

"Irish bastard!" I mocked my anger.

"American bitch! See two can play at that game."

"Shut up, McLoughlin," I rolled my eyes.

"I can't wait until that's your name too," He whispered, putting his forehead on mine.

"As much as I joke, I can't wait either."

"I love you, Clover."

"And I love you, Shamrock," I said before kissing him once more in front of the ocean. It couldn't have been more perfect.
