Melody's POV
I sighed, looking at my ring for the umpteenth time. I was lying in bed, not really doing anything but I could not tear my eyes from the silver band with green diamonds. It still had yet to sink in; I was engaged to none other than Sean McLoughlin.
"Are you still looking at your ring?" He chuckled, leaning in the doorway of our bedroom.
"I can't help it! It's so pretty and I'm hoping that if I stare at it enough that it'll sink in; we're getting married."
"Is it working?" He asked.
"Not really. Hey, I guess this makes it official, huh? Seeing as we were already engaged when I was shot."
"I'm never living that down, am I?" Sean groaned and I laughed.
"Nope. Not in a million years. I'm going to tell our future kids about that."
Future kids, huh? I like that sound of that," He smiled.
"Ya'know, I didn't like the idea of kids before but I think I just might be ok having yours."
"That is incredibly sweet, Melody."
"Yeah well... Anyway, what brings you up here?" I asked.
"Well, you left your phone downstairs and someone named Derek keeps calling you. Something you wanna tell me, Clover?"
"Derek? Oh shit, that's my publisher! Gimme that!" I said, swiping the phone away from him. I went to call Derek back but he beat me to it.
"There you are, Argenti! I've been trying to get ahold of you forever!"
"Sorry, Derek. I didn't have my phone. Why have you been calling me?"
"A good deal has landed in our laps. Warner Brothers wants to make the Timeline Series into a movie series."
"Are you fucking serious? Like they did with Harry Potter?"
"So we're doing it, right?"
"Schedule a meeting and tell me when it is. I want to be there to discuss it."
"You got it. I've said it once, I'll say it again. I have a feeling this is going to be huge!"
"Focus, Derek. We got a lot of work ahead of us," I smirked.
"Right. I'll text you later with the details."
"Bye Derek."
"Talk to you later, Argenti." I hung up the phone and looked at Sean.
"Good things come in twos, I guess."
"Isn't the saying 'Good things come in threes?" He asked, taking a seat on the bed.
"Well, only two things have happened so..."
"What did he want?"
"Well... Warner Brothers wants to make my book series into a movie series!"
"What, babe! That's awesome! I'm so proud of you!" He grinned, pulling me in for a hug.
"I know. I think I'll have to fly back down there soon but not for a little while. And maybe I'll pop in and see Mark, who knows?" I beamed, hugging him tight.
"Oh Jesus, you have to tell him. And while you're at it, we can tell him about the engagement," Sean said, pulling away from the hug but keeping his hands on my shoulders.
"I feel as though he'll think there is a third thing when there isn't."
"No, he'll just be excited for us. You know we're basically Mark's OTP."
