THE FOUR OF THEM WAITED on the rooftop, as Erica climbed through the air ducts of Starcourt Mall. After promises of free ice cream, and absolutely no booby traps in the vents, the girl ended up agreeing to help them out.
"Erica, do you copy?" Kate asked through her supercomm.
"Mm-hmm, I copy. You nerds in position or what?"
The blonde rolled her eyes. "Yeah, we're in position. It's all quiet here, so you've got the green light."
"Green light, roger that... Commence operation: Child Endangerment."
"Can we maybe not call it that?"
"See you on the other side, nerds," Erica responded as the channel turned to static. They anxiously waited for the younger girl to open the door, or at the very least, let them know what was going on.
"All right, nerds," she suddenly spoke. "I'm there."
Kate smiled. "Do you- do you see anything?"
"Yeah, I see those boring boxes you're all so excited about."
"Any guards?"
"Negative."
"Booby traps?" she teased.
"If I could see them, they'd be pretty shit traps, wouldn't they?"
Kate shook her head and breathed out a laugh. The doors below them opened and Erica Sinclair walked through. The four of them stared down at her in amazement as she shouted. "Free ice cream. For. Life."

Steve used a box cutter to open the Imperial Panda order that sat upon a table. Inside of it was another, tinier metal box. He took in a deep breath as he turned the knob at the top of it and lifted the cover off, only to reveal four more smaller dials. The air hissed and a thick smoke drifted from the cube.
