Chapter 11
Ruby
I smirked as it got quiet. I looked around and spotted some cuties.
Walking over to them, I said, “Can I sit with you?” I asked mainly towards the boys. I could tell that the girls were glaring at me; the cuties must be their boyfriends.
“No,” the girls said quickly.
“Yes!” the boys said at the same time. The girls turned their glare, to the boys. I walked away looking for another table.
“Hey, can I sit with you?” I asked some girls. They nodded and I sat down, they started up their conversation again, but I was too busy watching the cuties.
The girls walked off and I took this as my chance, I got up and walked over to them.
“Hi,” I said, sitting down. They stared at me for a second, and muttered a ‘hey’. The two blondes got up and left leaving Mr. Hottie and I; I didn’t mind at all.
I scooted down the table so I was directly across from him. He looked at me for a second and then went back to picking at his food.
“Hi, I’m Ruby,” I said.
“Zack,” he said.
“That’s a nice name,” I said.
He got up, “Well, see you around,” He said. Before walking out of the doors he threw the rest of his food away.
“Oh yes you will,” I whispered.
I walked to my cabin with a counselor; obviously I don’t get a cabin to myself. The counselor knocked on the door, and I heard some shuffling before the door opened.
“Yes?” They asked. Wait, I remember that voice.
“Hello girls, we are short of cabins so Ruby will be sharing a cabin with you,” the counselor. This could be fun. The girl nodded and I walked in.
“Girls, Ruby will be staying with us because they are short of cabins,” she said bitterly. They were shocked.
“Ruby you can stay in there, your bed is in there too,” the girl said pointing to the other side of the cabin, not looking at me.
I walked off in that direction, “What is she doing here?” I heard one ask.
“Don’t ask me, as soon as we can, we are kicking her out,” the first girl said. Ok I guess that this means war. I walked out the door, looking around spotting Zack at the lake. I walked over to him and sat down next to him.
“Hey,” I said. He nodded, “So, you must know what is happening around here, right?” I asked.
He nodded, “What do you need to know?” He asked.
“Well,” I said twirling my finger around my hair.
I heard someone running, and next thing I know I was completely soaked.
“Whoops,” I heard. She headed towards the other side of the lake.
“What is her problem?” I asked Zack.
He sighed, “That’s Lexi, my girlfriend, she can be a little jealous at times.” Well this just made things more exciting.
I walked into my cabin, straight to my room. I opened my dresser, and screamed. What was all over my clothes?
I picked one up, and walked to the other girls’ room, “What is this?” I asked.
“Hey don’t ask us, we didn’t do it,” one said looking it over, “It could be from the bugs,” she said.
I screamed, dropping it running to my room. I turned back my covers, and got in. Why was it so bumpy? I let out another scream, running to the bathroom. I stopped at the door, there was a note. ‘This means war!’ it said. I started opening the door, and got covered in something cold. I looked at it, chocolate milk? I ran out of the room towards the counselor office. I ran in out of breath and told her everything.
“Well, let’s go talk to them,” She said. I followed her back to my cabin and walked in.
“Girls, Ruby here says that you put glue on her clothes, bugs in her bed, and poured chocolate milk on her.” She said.
“Now why would we do that?” The one blonde asked.
“Where would we get the milk, the mess hall is completely out until tomorrow,” The brunette said.
“Plus do you see any of that?” Lexi asked.
“Well let me take a look around,” the counselor said. They nodded and I stood there shocked.
The counselor came out a minute later, “Ruby there aren’t any bugs in your bed and it doesn’t look like you even unpacked, I don’t see any chocolate milk either.”
I stood there mouth wide open, “But-but,” was all I could say. The counselor took me by the arm and led me out of the cabin.
“Ruby, you better get cleaned up, this time I will give you a warning, but next time, I am calling your father.”
I nodded, and went to the public showers, not taking off my clothes and washing off all the chocolate milk. I walked back to the cabin after drying off. I walked in and slammed the door behind me.
“Oh hey RUBY,” The blonde said.
I looked at her like she was crazy, and continued to my room. I heard the door slam a second later and I walked to the bathroom.
I got up early to take another shower, because I smelt like rotten milk, literally. I grabbed my shampoo, and clothes. Turning on the shower I stripped and stepped in letting the water drip down me. I got out and put a towel on my head, using another to dry off. I put my clothes on and took off my towel starting to dry it off.
I froze and straightened up to look in the mirror. I let out a blood curdling scream. I stormed out of the cabin, slamming the door behind me. People gave me weird looks as I past them.
I reached in my pocket, good I have my phone. I looked around, and finally found Zack by the lake.
I marched over to him, “Hey Ruby,” he said not looking at me.
Not paying attention, I crashed my lips down on his, taking a picture on my phone.
