The next day...
Elijah sat at the edge of the bed in his childhood room hunched over with his head in his hands. Jada layed on her side with JoJo sleep beside her. Elijah hasn't said a word since yesterday. He sat in that same spot for hours. He would get up to use the bathroom and he would pace back and forth in the room. Jada was worried about him. Elijah has been so out of it that he didn't even tell his dad or Jigz that his mom passed away. So Jada thought it would best if she told them. They was taking the next flight and should be here tomorrow afternoon.

Jada slid JoJo in the middle of the bed and put two pillows on both sides of him just incase he rolled over.
"You hungry?" Jada asked as he walked up to him. He didn't say anything.
"Elijah" Jada said lowly. Elijah lifted his head from his hands.

"You hungry?" Jada repeated. He shook his head no. Jada sighed.
"...I'm about to go to the store to get you something to eat. Keep an eye on JoJo" she said pointing at JoJo. Elijah glanced behind him. He stood up and nodded. Jada watched as he moved the pillows she placed around JoJo. Elijah laid back in the bed and scooted JoJo closer to him. Jada eyes watered. It hurt her seeing him like this.

"I'll be back" Jada managed to say as she rushed out the room. She wiped her eyes as she made it to Liza room. She knocked twice before peeking her head inside. Liza was crying with her phone to her ear.
"Liza...." Jada said as she slowly walked up to her.
"Britt I'll call you back" Liza said wiping her eyes as she hung up the phone.
"I'm ok Jada. I'm just trying to process that my mom is really gone" she cried. Jada sat down on her bed and hugged her.

"Ohh Liza." Jada said as she slowly rocked her.
"It's gonna be ok. It hurts, I know it does. You just gotta take it one day at a time" Jada told her. They pulled apart. Both of them wiped their eyes.
"I'm sure your mom wouldn't want y'all crying. Losing your mother is a different type of hurt. I know it's gonna be hard, but your gonna be alright" Jada assured her.

A few days later
Tension was running high as the church filled with people. Sharons family didn't didn't acknowledge Elijah so he didn't acknowledge them. The only person in her family that spoke, was his grandmother, his aunt and his cousin Josh. His Uncle Roy had the nerve to show up and that just had Elijah fuming.

"You ok?" Jada whispered. Elijah nodded as he glanced around at the many people dressed in black. He never seen half these people, but he recognized a few faces that where her friends and coworkers.

They sat through the first half of the service before the pastor called Elijah up to the podium to talk.
"Come with me" Elijah whispered to Jada as he stood up passing JoJo to Jigz and his father that was seated directly behind they. Jada nodded as she took his hand as he guided they My the stairs.

Jada stood a few feet away with her hands interlocked in front of her. Elijah tugged at his tie before adjusting the mic.
"Um-I don't have have much to say. Anyone who knows me, knows how much my mother meant to me...I knew I would lose track of what to say so I just wrote it down" he said as he stuffed one hand in his pocket and held the paper with the other.

"I am missing you today but I know that you will always be with me in my heart..." Elijah paused as a tear fell from his eye. He huffed because he didn't wanna cry in front of everyone. He grabbed his cross necklace.
"I wish I could of took your pain away, I wish I could of been there for you like you wanted me too...I'm sorry" tears just kept falling from his eyes. There was a pause. Jada took a step closer to him as she rubbed his back.
"I find myself thinking of you every second. I find myself checking your room. But than I come to the realization that you're gone, and never coming back" Elijah sniffled as he wiped his eyes.
"I cried endlessly when you died but I promise, I won't let the tears overpower the smiles that you've given me when you were alive. Whenever I am missing you, I also remember how fortunate I was that you were in my life. I wouldn't trade those moments for the world." Elijah smiled as he thought of his mother.
"I promise to be a better man, a better father, a better brother...I love you always and forever Mama..." He said as he took two steps away from the mic. Jada and him embraced each other.
"I love you" Jada said.
"I love you too" he said kissing her neck.
