"I-I dont think this is safe." she said, her knuckles turning white as she held onto the arm rests of her chair. She looked down the slope they stood on, her green eyes wide in fear. She bit her lip and felt butterflies in her stomach.
"It’ll be fun, Punz! I’m right here." Her friend said, leaning over the side of her chair and placed a shift kiss on her cheek. A blush colored her tanned face as she turned and looked at him, his blue eyes gleaming with mirth. She gave him a small nervous smile.
"What if…what if you let go.." she said softly, closign her eyes as the memories came flooding back. memories of the accident, of seeing her mother die and her father hold her close telling her over and over not to let go of him. By the time they got to the hospital he had passed, letting go of her and leaving her alone.
She felt a hand tug at her messy bun of blonde hair before the hair tie was pulled out, letting wild waves of gold fall down around her shoulders. She looked up at him, leaning back her head as he leaned over her.
"I wont ever let go, princess." he said softly with a smile that made her heart skip. He kissed her lips upside down before pulling away, one foot on the back bar of the wheelchair. "Ready?"
"Not really." she said with a half giggle, yet she held on tight. Her pink dress fluttered in the soft breeze of summer, bare feet on the small step of her chair. She couldn’t feel the coolness of the metal under them anymore. She couldnt feel the warm wind on the skin of her calves, but Jack didnt care. he would laugh and say:
'Princesses arent supposed to walk anyway. They're supposed to be pampered and carried around so they dont stress themselves.'
She closed her eyes as she felt the chair moved toward the toward slope of the green hill they stood on. The wind rushed against her face, her hair blew back as they rolled down the grassy hill, Jack riding on the back with a big grin on his face as if there was nothing odd about the two teenagers in love.
She grinned and raised her hands up in the air as they raced through the wind until Jack placed his heel into the ground as they came to the end of the slope, slowly slowing the wheels down until they were at a complete stop. They both laughed as he turned her chair toward him and grinned at her.
"Told you I wouldnt let go."
She blushed and placed her hands on either side of his face, leaning forward to kiss his lips. he sighed and smiled into the kiss, leaning on the handles of her chair and kissing her back. For a moment the world fell away before she pulled back,
"Can we do it again?" she asked biting her lip with a shy smile, her hair in wild waves around her face. Jack smirked at her,
"As you wish, princess."
He raced his beautiful girlfriend back up the hill as she giggled and told him to ‘mush!’.
