Jack had wanted her to move into his apartment for the mere fact that he wanted to show her how serious he was about their relationship. Now a days there were very few things he was really serious about. Seriousness and deadlines weren’t his thing. He liked new and exciting, fun and spontaneous. The problem with a life style of new and spontaneous is that he started to feel detached and lonely. He tried to fill the void with Elsa, but she was just as lonely as him even when they were together. Then he met Rapunzel.

She was adorable in her little white apron, opening her small pastry shop down the street from his bar. He had gone out to get his paycheck one morning and saw a line of people outside a building he was sure was up for lease.

"Thank you, come back soon!" a chipper voice sounded, anyone could hear the joy and smile in her words. He had stood in line for almost five minutes before he actually stepped inside. The placed looked like it had been renovated over night. It was simple decor with pale blue wall paper, hanging white lights in the shape of flowers. Small bistro tables were set up along the wall and in the corners. The counter was long, full of pastries of all kinds with small personally designed cake stands. Large menu boards with beautiful white writing listed the delights they served. It smelled amazing.

He could see a couple of employees running around but so far there were only three. The woman on register, another one placing pastries and a boy cleaning tables and delivering coffee to customers. Finally he made it to the long lit up case, his mouth watered at the sight of it all.

"Hi there, can I get you anything?"

Jack looked up and over the case, he met the most beautiful big green eyes he had ever seen. She was a tiny thing dressed in a light blue sun dress with a little white apron. Her hair was golden, pulled back into a messy bun. Her lips were pink and had a natural pout; she had hardly any make up on yet she looked gorgeous.

"Umm, I’ve never been here before. Whats good?" he asked, nervous for some reason. He was never nervous. He was a bartender for Christ sakes, he lived off small talk. But he was mostly nervous because she was so naturally pretty, looked so innocent, he felt like she probably hated him on sight with his tattoos and piercings.

"Well, that depends." she said with a cute smirk, "Do you like fruit or frosting?"

"Fruit." he said with a smirk of his own.

"Flaky or glazed?"

"Flaky?"

"Blondes or brunettes?"

His eyes widened, “Huh?”

She giggled, “Got you.” She opened the case up on her side and pulled out what looked like a brown flower shaped pastry. It had something inside of it, a glaze over fresh fruit with cinnamon sprinkled on top. She put it in a small box and handed it to the cashier.

"Its his first time, so its on the house." she said with a smile. The short haired girl smiled at her and turned to hand him the box. He stared at the little white box then back at the blonde,

"Are you sure?" he asked, still stunned by her playfulness and her beauty. She nodded,

"Yep."

"You’re not gonna get in trouble?" he asked. She giggled and shook her head while the girl at the register laughed as well. He had no idea what was so funny.

"Nope. Its called an Apple Tartlet by the way." she said with a smile, pointing to the box, "If you like it you have to come back tomorrow." she turned to walk back to the next customer.

"And if i don’t?" he called to her, walking backwards to the door with his box. She shrugged,

"Guess you’ll have to come back and try something till you like it." she answered. He grinned, snake bites flickered in the light.
