Jackunzel Drabbles (The Original)

The Lost City

"This is bad."

"We can work with this, we can work with this. We just have to—"

"This is really bad.."

"—find our way back to the thing..you think it was the waterfall? We need to—"

"We’re doomed."

"—get your machete back and my gun and just—"

"Jack, we are surrounded by large men with spears and who could probably take our heads before we ever attempt to retrieve our things. So lets say, for argument sake, that they don’t want to kill us already, you will get us killed.” The brunette hissed.

The white haired man opened his mouth to argue but the glare that his friend and fellow explorer gave him was enough for him to close it. Both men shuffled in between the parade of warriors. The men were dressed from their excavation, cargo pants holding their cell phones and keys as well as brushes and gloves for any artifacts found with plain t-shirts that stuck to them in the amazon heat.  None of that did them any good when they had walked behind the waterfall.

The men around them were at least six inches taller than them, all of them had broad shoulders and muscled physiques with golden tattoos along their skin. Each had a shade of blonde hair with mostly very light blue eye or green eyes. Their clothes were minimal, tribal skirts with gold decoration, chests covered with minimal plated gold armor and swords at their hips. They didnt speak a language that the explorers could identify , nothing they have ever heard before and they had been all over the world.   

The entire group walked through shallow stream that lapped at their ankles. Well, the warriors ankles. Jack and Hiccup both had on their boots to protect them from the plants and animals. They did not protect them from the armed men that led them through the more forests. When the lush green had stopped, the stream separated into intricately built stone pathways. 

"Holy shit." Jack whispered into the air. Hiccup gulped.

Where ever they were, they were no longer in the Amazon. They had walked into a city. A city filled with floating lights, shining down on homes and market places. The homes were not like modern houses but built like ancient historical homes of stone and gold. Deities carved into walls, stones of all kinds glittered the pavements. The warriors paid no mind to their awed prisoners but instead kept walking through the town. 

"Are you..seeing this?" Jack said softly, staring at the people as they walked by them. A woman stared back at him with long black hair and red eyes, her hands were sharp bird like claws yet her body was of a beautiful woman.

Hiccup moved away from the man who stared him down, meeting the eyes of a grotesque stone like creature who stood at a over six foot with skin grey and freckled like a boulder, teeth jagged and eyes black.

"We obviously died behind that waterfall.." Hiccup whispered back.

"Or we just discovered the most amazing civilization on the planet." Jack whispered back as a smile crept onto his lips.

They took note of the creatures who walked past them, creatures that humans thought were just mythology lived and breathed among them. Harpies, trolls, minotaurs, vampires, centaurs, elves…everything you could think of walked among each other like a common city dwellers. The two travelers were led to the large gold doors of a decorative palace, walls built high with gold markings and stones that would surely make them the richest men alive.  Without a knock or pull the doors opened for the warriors.

The chamber was filled with beautiful tapestries and jewels, the floating lights lit the halls shining off the riches that filled them. The colors were bright and vivid, the stones on the ground each decorated with the same tribal markings that the warriors had tattooed on themselves. The palace seemed to go on forever, yet they had not seen another person besides their own parade.
