You should have listened to Poe, you shouldn't have snuck into battle—now you have the one and only Kylo Ren after you.

Here's a mini (about eight parts) series for you all now that TROS is almost here!

"This is not your mission. You may not join. It's life threatening and only soldiers and that of the upper rankings are assigned," Poe Dameron informed as you had walked closely beside him. "You are not even trained with weapons handling. You are meant to be on the ground, within the base!"

"I can do more than just aide to officers and be a messenger! I can fight!" You insisted, trying to sell yourself. You wanted nothing more than to take part. To actually do something—

Coming to a stop and pointing at you, Poe leaned into your eye level. "You are by staying here and doing as told by your superiors."

Blinking as your eyebrows furrowed, you watched as Poe turned and stomped away, aiming for the hangar of the base to join the Black Squadron. You hated the idea of doing nothing and standing idly by when you knew you were able to stand your ground.

For years now, ever since you joined, you expected to do more. More than to just sit around and wait.

So, instead of waiting, you made a move. You made your way to the hangar and snuck into one of the shuttles used to transport the soldiers. If no one was going to let you take part, then you'd have to do it yourself. No matter the costs.

You just hoped you wouldn't die... especially not on your first "mission."

"Departing in five," a pilot spoke as a group of soldiers stood amongst themselves, facing the canopy. Holding your breath for a moment as you quietly maneuvered by, you slid into an empty compartment and pulled your knees in.

There was no turning back.

The rumble of the ship grew stronger as you assumed you had landed. Muffled yells sounded as you heard the heavy footsteps descend down the ramp. Slowly and quietly pulling the hatch open, you peeked out to see if the cost was clear. Sliding out of the compartment and eyeing your surroundings, you spotted a few blasters that had remained, hanging against the wall of the shuttle.

"What am I getting myself into..." you mumbled under your breath as you held the blaster rifle in your hands, eyeing it. "It'll be worth it... I hope." Sucking in a deep breath, you eyed the vast darkness that would soon be encased by painful yells and bright flames.

Rushing down the ramp and hearing the commotion in the distance, you looked up at the stars for a moment think why did I do this? before forcing yourself into a sprint.

You did this for the greater good, for those in the Resistance... and for yourself.

It almost seemed selfish, risking your life just to make a statement that you were worthy enough to fight. Selfish of you to make a bold move to only survive and be reprimanded and never see a battle again. You just wanted to do something. You wanted to help in more ways than just staying on base with minimal work.

Running through the trees, following the distant yells, you came to a sudden halt. Stormtroopers. Seeing the figures clad in white as they rushed by, you looked over to see a handful of Resistance soldiers instantly firing at them. One by one, the armored soldiers fell... but so did the rebels.

Watching as a trooper aimed their blaster at the remaining Resistance soldiers, you lifted and aimed your own blaster, instantly pulling the trigger and watching the bolt shoot right through them. Blinking a few times, earning the attention of the remaining soldiers in white, you nearly yelped.
