The destruction of the First Order was one of many things that lingered in your mind. It was all you had known for the past few years, spending your days and nights only knowing the life of an officer. Yet... here you were, far away from the chaos and unsure as to what was left behind in its wake.

You sat at the window of the apartment you had now claimed on Coruscant. It had been quite some time since you had been sent there, prior to the end of the First Order's reign. Of course, word had spread like wildfire in one of the most populated planets in the galaxy.

Worry was an understatement, but this was life after war, and you knew it wasn't going to be sunshine and roses. Ever since your lover had sent you to Coruscant as he sensed trouble coming his way, you knew nothing would be the same.

Kylo Ren was always in some sort of predicament. That's what happens when you're the Supreme Leader. It was inevitable... However, this time around, it was far worse. Your life, too, was at stake for being so close to Kylo. You understood the circumstances, being torn from the man you grew to love, but as the days became weeks, and weeks became months, you were far too anxious to sit still.

Hope was all that you held onto, needing Kylo to return to you, but it had been too long and it didn't feel right. A piece of you was missing and a part of you felt empty. Moments like these you wished you were Force sensitive just to feel if he was out there somewhere. If he had survived. If he had escaped or gone into exile. Anything to mean he was alive.

Hearing a knock on your door, you stood up and walked over, eyebrows narrowed at the time for a visitor. Opening the blast doors and seeing someone with the Resistance logo on their jacket, you hesitated.

"Wait! Please, I was sent to find you. You're Y/N, aren't you?" The woman before you asked as you slowly nodded.

"Why? Who is asking? What does the Resistance want from me?" You asked in worry.

"Please, this is not a visit to detain you or anything to harm you. I am here because we have someone you may know..." she said.

"Someone?" You nearly whispered, heart fluttering at the thought of Kylo. "Are they with you?"

"No, they're at our base, in the medbay—"

"Oh, stars—"

"It's alright, they're alive. Please, I would like to bring you..." she pleaded.

"I don't know your name? How can I trust you?" You asked.

"I am Kaydel Ko Connix," she began as she bowed her head, "and we have your partner recovering alongside his mother."

Feeling your heart sink, you didn't think twice in joining her, immediately taking her side as she guided you to her ship. She didn't waste any time, when you made it up the ramp and into the shuttle, she was quick to alert you that she'd be making light speed. If it was this urgent, you knew it was something bad. It had to have been. There was no other explanation for being in such a hurry.
