She was lost. She was alone. She was scared. She was surrounded by the dead.
Ashley Grant was thrown into the terrifying world of the dead walking the streets. All she wanted was to go to the grocery store but she ran into...
"What kind of side-effects?" Glenn asks worriedly.
"It can cause a rash, itching, trouble breathing, trouble swallowing, fast or uneven heartbeat, lightheadedness or fainting, tightness in the chest, or any swelling of your hands, face, or mouth after they receive the injection. It may even cause death, but..." Jenner trails off.
"But?" Carol asks, worried for the young girl.
"But it is the only way to save her. But, before you decide, you need to be aware that the antitoxin will not reverse the damage that has been done. She will not see or move properly again. It's your call." He says to Rick, sensing that he is more concerned about her then the others.
Rick hesitates. If He allows Ash to take the Antitoxin, it can lead to her being blind and paralyzed the rest of her life and may lead her to death. But if she doesn't, she'll die anyway. Rick looks back up at Jenner. "Give her the Antitoxin." He says. A couple gasp in shock but others nod in agreement. Daryl just stands there, hoping she'll be okay.
Jenner nods than hurries to the long table. He grabs a syringe and antiseptic wipes and then hurries back and places them beside Ash. "I'll be right back. I have to go to the lab to get some Antitoxin." He says and hurries out the door.
They all look down at Ash. She's so pale and around her eyes are red and puffy, like she's been crying. She just lays there, seemingly unmoving, as they all look down at the girl they've grown to know.
Jenner runs back in with a bottle full of a clear liquid.

He wipes her inner elbow and then takes some antitoxin into the empty syringe and carefully injects the liquid into her. He then steps back and examines her. "It should take around 28 days for her to recover her strength." He says and then looks at everyone.
"Are you all okay for a dinner?" He asks and almost everyone's faces brighten up at the mention of food. They all walk out, some look distraught over the most recent events but follow anyway, with a last glance at the girl on the bed.

I look around me. For some reason, I see an alley. But, it's that alley. The one where everything changed. I look around, hoping to find my sister, but instead I find my mom. I look at her confused, as this is where my sister died, not my mom, and she gives me a sweet smile. "Mom? What are you doing here?" I ask her. My voice sounds off. LIke, I'm speaking through a glass room. She only shakes her head and I become worried and even more confused. "What's going on? Why won't you answer me?" I ask her desperately. That's when it happened. She broke into tears as I heard her distant sobbing. I become alert and worried. "Mom! What's wrong!" I ask her and my eyes get drawn to her her stomach, where I see red blood dripping down her white dress. "Mom!" I panic and I jump and scream as something bangs behind me. I turn around to see my dad standing there, holding a beer bottle covered in blood with his stomach hanging over his pants. I shake my head. "Why are you doing this!? Stop it! Leave her alone!" I scream at him and then I hear a scream to my side. I spin around to see Grace hunched over the trash can, looking at me in pain. I shake my head. "Stop...stop it...all of you!" I scream at them only to get a growl from behind me. I turn to see Rick with my pen in his throat, standing there, dead, looking right at me. I shake my head harder. "No! I-I didn't do this! None of this was my fault!" I scream and look up and see Merle and Daryl standing there, glaring harshly at me. They are pointing at me and then at everyone. I shake my head. "I didn't do this! Please! It wasn't me! I didn't kill any of you! I swear!" I scream as I fall to my knees and put my arms around my head. And then I'm suddenly in a soft chair. I look up confused to see I'm in a white room and Grace looking at me with a smile. "Grace?" I ask hesitantly.
"You really need to stop having those kind of dreams. It looks like a horror movie. And you know how much trouble you'd be in if I let you watch horror movies while mom and dad are gone." She says and I stare at her with wide eyes.
"How..? Why are you here?" I ask.
"Like I said, I can't allow you to keep seeing those type of things. I may be dead, but that doesn't mean I'm still not helpful." She says with a cocky grin.
I shake my head. "What-what am I doing here? Am I dead?" I ask her and she shakes her head, losing the grin to a gentle smile.
"No, you'll be just fine. They saved you, Ash." She says.
I look down. "Why is everyone trying to save me? You saved me and look where it got you. If I hadn't of begged you let me come-"
"That is enough." She suddenly says and I look up. She is glaring at me now. "If you say-or even think that it is your fault one more time-Ash, listen to me. They saved you. That gives you more chances to save them. But, if you regret letting them save you, you will regret it by not saving them."
I look at her in shock. "Grace...what if I can't? What purpose will I have if I come back for no reason?" I ask.
"What do you mean?" Grace asks confused.
"What if I can't ever walk again? What if I will turn completely blind? I won't be able to help them. I will only be in their way." I say sadly.
Grace sighs. "Ash, do you know what you mean to the people in this group?" She asks and I look at her confused. "Daryl sees you as a sister. He loves you, Ash. And you are T-Dog's best friend. He cares about you. And Rick? He loves you. They all care about you. They want you to survive. Even if you will never walk again, they will gladly protect you because they love you."
What? Rick...loves me? But...what have I done to deserve something like that?
Suddenly, it feels like I am being sucked through a straw. I look at Grace one more time before she disappears.
