It was silent in the bathroom as they both sat there. Ash got her bad feeling back now that she had eaten and she felt very uncomfortable under his gaze. Suddenly, she felt his hand touch her hair and she stiffened.

"You got it in your hair. And your clothes." He said. Ash lifted her hand felt there was indeed vomit in her hair and on her shirt. She made a disgusted face as she wiped it off on her jeans.

"You'll need a bath."

Her eyes went wide as he spoke those words.

Hell. No.

"It's alright. I can wash it out in the sink." She says quickly shaking her head as he stood up.

"It seeped through your shirt. Don't take this the wrong way but...you stink. You need a bath." The Governor says. It was obvious this was a demand.

"But I-"

"Don't worry. I'll have Dr Bridger come in and help you while I step out. Wait here. I'll be back after your bath." He says before walking out of the bathroom. The apartment door shut not long after however Ash waited a few more minutes before making her move.

She bent over and pulled out the scalpel from her jeans. She winced as she felt the sting of the blade cut her leg as she wriggled it free. She clasped her hand over the cut on her leg to feel blood seeping through her jeans. She must have cut it deeper than she realized. Damn.

She felt around with her other hand looking for a towel or something to stop the bleeding when she heard the apartment door open again.

"Hey, Ashley!" Alex exclaimed as she shut the apartment door.

'Shit! Shit! Shit!' Ash thought as she quickly stashed the scalpel under her butt as she grabbed her leg with both hands after smearing some blood on a pointed edge of her chair.

"The Governor asked me to help you with your bath. I didn't mind so I came. I brought some extra clothes as well-WHAT THE HELL!"

Ash picked her head up a little. "Hey, Alex. A little help here?" She asked.

"What the hell happened?!" Alex asked as she ran into the bathroom and knelt in front of Ash. Ash couldn't tell what was being done to her leg as she could hardly feel them.

Ash remembered what the Governor said. Alex told him what happened in the exam room. She couldn't be trusted. Nobody could be trusted. Not even Merle.

"I-I don't know. I think I cut it on my chair." She lies.

"Jesus, Ashley! You gotta be careful!" Alex scolds as Ash feels a pressure on her calf. "This cut is pretty deep. I think it will need stitches." Alex observes.

Ash freezes. "No! Ah...no, it's fine. Just patch it up and it'll be good. I can't even feel it so..."

Its silent as Alex mulls this over. "Ash, is something going on? This doesn't look like something from your chair. It's not rigged, its a clean cut. Like a knife. Did someone do this?"

Ash's throat swells up and her mouth goes dry. It was easier to lie when she knew who she was lying to. And something in her gut told her to tell her the truth but her brain told her otherwise.

She finally told her brain to shove it. Her gut has gotten her further than her brain ever did.

She pulled out the scalpel that she hid and held it out in her open palms. "It was an accident. I...I didn't mean to." She said with her head held down in shame and worry. What was going to happen to her now?

The scalpel was grabbed softly from her hands. "You snatched this? When?" Alex asks.

Ash bit her lip nervously. "Before I came to you. In the other exam room. I knocked over a tray when I fell and grabbed it." She said.

It's silent for a moment before Alex speaks up again. "Next time you steal a weapon, don't use it on yourself."

Ash sat there confused. "Wait, what?" She asks. "You aren't going to do something to me?" She asks.

Alex snorts as she stands up. "Do something to you? Please. If anything, I'm rooting for you to kill that bastard." She says.

Ash's mouth hangs open in shock. "But...you...you told him what happened in the room. You told him I declined the glasses." She says.

"Well, I had to tell him something. Didn't you notice that that's all I said? I didn't tell him anything about you other than you don't want your glasses yet." Alex said.

Ash thought back to her conversation with the Governor. She was right. That was all he had asked about. She shales her head confused. "Why do you want him dead?" She asks.

Alex scoffs as the sink water turns on and off. Ash could hear Alex cleaning up the blood mess that she was sure she made. "Everyone would want him dead after they realised who he was. He's a sadistic bastards who only cares about himself and how much he can take away from everyone else. He...he has a secret in this apartment that he doesn't want anyone else to know about." She says.

Ash sat up intrigued. "What is it?" She asked.

Alex scoffed. "Hell if I know. All I know is your the only one who has given me this much hope to finally get the hell out. You can figure out what it is and take him down. And then we can go find that boyfriend of yours."

Ash smiled. This was it. This was her chance. She'd get her sight back. She'd get her legs back. She'd get her family back. The was so much hope swelling up inside her it felt like she was going to burst.

She nodded with a smile. "Yes. This is our chance. Our chance to get out. To find Rick. To find my family." She said.

"Rick? So that's his name, huh?" She asked and you could hear the smile in her voice. "Sexy name. Bet he has a sexy smile, too." She laughed.

Ash's face heated up as Rick's smile flashed in her mind's eye. "Shut up!" She laughed.

The two laughed a little longer before finally getting around to putting Ash into the bath. While she was in the bath, Alex was cleaning the bathroom, making sure there was no sign of blood anywhere.

Ash decided to trust this girl. She had the same goal as her; get the hell out of Woodbury. She felt like a weight was lifted from her shoulders, finally knowing that she had someone she could trust.
