Sorry for the late update. School has been crazy with the whole Coronavirus thing. Not to mention we are moving soon and things have been really hectic. But I managed to squeeze in some time for this chapter so here it is.

[3rd POV]

The past couple of days were very painful on everyone. After they had the funerals, Hershel disappeared and Beth went into shock. She didn't eat or drink, just layed in bed and stared into space. Rick and Glenn left the farm to find Hershel and when they didn't come back after dark, Lori went off to look for them herself.

But she got into a crash and was missing as well until Shane found her and brought her back. That's when Carl found out that he was going to be a big brother. Lori was pregnant. The worst part, it wasn't Ricks baby. During their time in Atlanta while she thought Rick was dead, her and Shane developed a relationship. And that relationship is the cause of the baby inside her.

When Rick came back, he brought a stranger who was left for dead by his group after he fell from a roof onto a metal fence gate and severed his leg. Hershel performed surgery so he doesn't lose his leg. Rick and Shane tried to take the stranger out with supplies so he could survive away from them but they all came back bloody and bruised so they lock the stranger back in the barn. After they finished discussing what to do with him, Dale was torn apart by a walker. They had his funeral the day after.

Maggie has been helping Ash with everything. She was currently doing what Rick explained for her to do. She was helping Ash move her limbs. It was extremely painful when she moved her joints on her own. They were taking baby steps, working on her fingers and hands.

Ash would cry out as her body was swept up in a current of pain. Maggie felt bad at times, other times she just kept on pushing. Rick walked in during that time just as Ash cried out in pain. "Maggie! I'm not rubber!" She bellowed as her finger bent backwards.

Rick laughed loudly and Ash instantly glared in his direction. "This isn't funny, Rick!" She exclaimed, causing both Rick and Maggie to laugh. She grumbled as the two laughed at her. "Gormless prats"

"Hey, don't be like that. We're only trying to help." Rick says as Maggie walks out.

"Uh huh, yeah. I'll believe it when I see it...wait..." For a moment, she forgot she was blind. She could visibly see Rick laughing at her in her mind. "Guess I'll never believe it then." She said softly.

Its silent for a moment before Rick speaks. "Enough." He says firmly, causing Ash to freeze.

"Excuse me?" She asks confused.

"Enough moping around. It's time for you to get out of this room." He says as he walks over to her. He bends down on one knee and slides his arms under her knees and neck and lifts her up.

"Rick? What are you doing?" She asks confused as she is picked up and carried out of the room.

Rick ignores her as he calls to Hershel. "Hershel! Do you have a wheelchair?" Herschel nods and walks to the closet and pulls out a folded wheelchair. He unfolds it and pushes it toward them.

Rick sets Ash into the chair and then pushes her out the open door and onto the porch. "Rick?" She asks again but sighs in contempt when sunlight hits her pale skin.

Rick pushes her into the yard as she breathes in the fresh air. She opens her eyes only to shut them quickly when they burn in the bright light. "Rick...my eyes. They burn." She says as she tries to open them again.

"Here. They are Patricia's. Said you could have them." She heard Hershel's voice as sunglasses were placed on her eyes.

She opens her eyes and everything is black. She smiles. "Tell her I said thank you." She said, even though she doesn't know who Patricia was exactly.

Suddenly, she hears footsteps running up to them. "Rick. It's Randall. He's gone." She hears Andrea say in a hurried tone.

"Where's Shane?" Rick asks also in a hurry.

"Who's Randall?" Ash asks.

"The guy who tore his leg on a fence." Hershel says as he begins pushing her away from Rick and Andrea as they talk walking away.

"Oh..." Is all she says as Hershel wheels her back into the house. He wheels her to her room.

"How is your therapy going?" Hershel asks, trying to change the subject.

Ash sighs. "I swear Maggie is trying to take my hands off." She says and Hershel laughs.

"Can you move your hands?" He asks.

Ash tries to move her fingers and, to both of their surprise, manages to knock her hands off of the arm rests of the wheelchair. She smiles as she realizes what she has accomplished. "I guess so."

Hershel chuckles. "See? Maggie knows what she's doin'."

They both laugh as Hershel puts a blanket over her shoulders and another in her lap. He lifts her arms and puts them in her lap on top of the blanket. "Whatcha doin'?" Ash asks confused.

"Putin' some blankets over you. It's almost dark and we don't want you catching a cold, now do we?" He asks and she nods in agreement.

"Nope." She says and Hershel sits down on the edge of the bed.

"Want me to read something?" He asks.

"What do you have?" Ash asks perking up at the mention of reading.

"Well..." He says as he stands up and walks over to a bookcase. "We have To Kill A Mockingbird, Nineteen Eighty-Four, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Animal Farm, Catcher In The Rye, The Great Gatsby, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and Lord of the Flies."

Ash thinks for a moment. "How about To Kill A Mockingbird? I heard that was a really good book."

"It is." Hershel says with a smile as he grabs the book and then sits back down on the bed. He began reading to her out loud and she soon drifted off.

She woke up to gunshots and screaming. She opened her eyes, hoping to be able to see what was going on to no luck. "Hey! What's going on?!" She yelled to anyone who would listen. Footsteps ran into the room and came towards her.

"It's a herd. The house is surrounded." She heard Andrea saying as she was pushed from the room.

"Wait, what?" She asked in horror, remembering the last time they came in contact with the herd.

"Where's Carl?! Carl!?" She heard Lori screaming.

"Where's Rick?" She heard herself ask.

"He hasn't made it back."
