Chapter 4 - Sama-Sama Together

Second year na ko when I got myself accepted to be one of the editorial staff for our school organ. It has always been my passion to write and read different novels at short stories. That is why high school pa lang ay kasali na ako as one of the staffers for our school publication. And I did not skip that chance when the university journalism club open for application to be part of their editorial staff. At yun ang pinagkaiba ko sa tatlo Kong kaibigan. They're good at physical activities even excelling on it, while I'm more into arts. Hindi lang naman kasi writing ang kinahiligan ko, i also draw sketches and even paint pero not that i often do unlike writing.Magkaganunpaman, they support me sa gusto kong gawin,especially Ken, na voluntarily giving me some topics or plot that he wants me to write in my column.

Tumpak! We survived the first year of our college life as real, best and true buddies. We even got our friendship stronger by standing at each other's side and supporting one another. Ika nga walang iwanan kaya nung nag-enroll kami for the coming schoolyear we made it a point na magkakaklase kami sa mga minor subjects. Ken became my closest at ganun din sya sa akin siguro dahil simula pa lang Enzo and Marc are best friends na elementary days pa lang at high school na  sila when they got Ken as friend. Kaya minsan nao-OP si Ken pag naghaharutan na yung dalawa. Blessing for both of us kasi kami ang nagkatandem. Pero minsan umeeksena si Enzo to get my attention. Epal yun kasi pag kulang sa pansin.

Hindi lang naman kasi sa loob ng school umikot ang friendship naming apat. We level it up by letting our families know the existence of our friendship. I remember the day when I brought the three mokongs in our house because birthday ng mom ko. That was also the first time they will be meeting my other siblings and my twin sister! Oo nilihim ko sa kanila na may kakambal ako kasi I wanted to surprise them and see their reactions.

FLASHBACK...

"PUCHA Jay, Hindi ba nakakahiya pumunta sa haws nyo, its a family affair db?" si Enzo na parang may second thoughts when I told them that it was mom's birthday and I invited them to have dinner with us. I also told them my plan of introducing them to mom and to the rest of my family as my best friends tsaka kinukulit na rin ako ng kambal ko na makilala sila .

"Timang! Wag ka ngang pahiya-hiya mode Enzo. Honestly, it doesn't fit you sa kapal

ba naman ng mukha mo ungas ka!" ako yan pang aalaska ko sa kanya.

"At kayong dalawang unggoy sige subukan nyong kampihan si Enzo mag-inarte din kayo kung ayaw nyo magsolian na tayo ng mga kandila ngayon!" panindak ko naman kina Marc at Ken na  nakatingin at nakikinig sa amin ni enzo habang nakaupo kami sa classroom for our last subject that day.

"Ano daw?!" si Marc na nagulat sa sinabi ko dahil Hindi nya nagets yung message ko

"Pusang gala ka Arjay! Ano yang pinagsasasabi mo Jan? May solian ka pa ng kandilang nalalaman jan hinayupak ka! "litanya yan ni Marc. " Ano yun patay?

" Tangek!" sabat ni Ken kay Marc. " Patay na sinasabi mo dyang engot ka. Solian ng kandila meant cutting the bond between him and us as in the friendship" paliwanag ni Ken Kay Marc na kinatango naman nya ng ulo bilang pag intindi sa paliwanag nito. Habang naiiling naman ako sa pagkaslow ni Marc o sadyang Hindi lang nya alam talaga.

"Ok Jay sige , were going with you. Syempre hindi mo maaalis sa amin ang medyo mahiya first time eh." susog pa ni Ken bilang pagsang ayon sa nararamdaman ni Enzo. Kay Marc kasi Hindi uso  yung salitang hiya...certified kapal muks yang taong yan.hehehe

"Basta don't worry mabait si mom pati mga kapatid ko. And you're gonna meet my surprise to you guys. Basta after this class punta na  tayo sa bahay." Me giving them my assurance that everything will be okay.

We decided to drop by muna sa mall after going out of the university upon the requests of my three bosom friends. Ayaw din nila pumunta sa bahay ng walang dalang gift sa mom ko kaya ayun punta ng mall para bumili ng mabibitbit sa bahay. Marc decided na ice cream ang bitbit nya kaya dalawang 3.5liter-of different flavors ang binili nya, Enzo bought a cake with inscribed greetings on it, at si Ken, isang dosenang sunflower ang binili after asking me kung ano ang favorite flower ni mom. After which, we took a cab and went to our house.
