Have you ever thought that these spotlights are getting too light-hearted? Well, let's fix that with probably the darkest webtoon yet to cap off the first webtoon spotlights: Ghost Teller by QTT! So please turn off the lights and prepare for a review so good it's scary.
Summary
For centuries history has told us the story that ghosts were merely monsters with any semblance of what made them "good" long past. So we turn them into wicked, wrathful wraiths that have never moved on. But when we look back in the mirror, are you sure they are the actual monsters?
Characters
So unlike other spotlights, they are no real central characters in this webtoon, only storytellers. Though from context clues, many have theorized that the ghosts are the ones to tell their own stories.
Overview
Since this is the first real anthology series, I might as well say that first off, I have major respect for it. I find it's a concept that's rarely used but fun whatever it comes up. The ability to create the most gripping stories with characters that may only get a single moment to shine is always commendable. Each tale from Ghost Teller has an ironic twist of fate that makes it harder to watch. The art also has very great shading to fit with the more morbid setting. Through the horror anthology set up, Ghost Teller can also have many themes of insecurity, religion, cyberbullying, ambition, and so much more.
It's a great look into the sinful habits that made us who we are today. On another note, the ghosts all have a unique design that gives us some clues about their fate. However, if the looks aren't for you, please enjoy the philosophical discussions at the end of each story.
Epilogue
With Ghost Teller season 2 over, it seems the series and the ghost that inhabits it can rest by the extension. Either way, the impact of such a story will remain far after it's gone. So I guess let's put a cover on the spotlight for now and focus on something a little more random.
