Have you ever wanted to make fun of a bad situation? If so, then Shoot Around by suspu is the webtoon to be the final spotlight to close off pride month!

Summary

This lovely tale is about the lives of a female basketball player that has to drag their bumbling coach through a zombie apocalypse.

Characters

Shoot around has like seven characters. I'll be briefer on their personalities.

Coach Jeff: the fatherly mentor/coach to all the girls. He pretty much keeps them all together and keeps a cool head.

Hotaru: Pretty much Hotaru is the stick in the mud of the group who is the most driven and high-strung of the group.

Sofia: Arguably, the most powerful group Sofia is stoic, mischievous, cruel, independent, honest, and rude to pretty much everyone. She's my favorite.

Chau: Out of all of them, she is the most idealistic, kind, and weak-willed out of the group.

Kayla: The big sister of the group she is the most open and understanding of them all while being fiercely protective

Lakka: She is the literal definition of a hyperbolic chatterbox who serves as the upbeat voice of the team.

Lynna: The official leader of the group Lynna is the weebest/nerdiest girl of all who has the charisma and kindness similar to Lakka and Chau.

Overview

Shoot Around to this day is one of the funniest and most charming webtoons in my library. This series doesn't take the zombie apocalypse seriously, with Jeff losing his hand in the first three episodes and being completely fine with it. All of the girls have fantastic chemistry with each other, with the series showing off the interactions within said team. Despite this, though, there are a lot of chapters that have real heart put into them.

This series also puts a lot of acceptance and normalcy into various Lgbt topics. Polyamorous, transexuals, and lesbian relationships are all on full display, but the apocalyptic setting means that the characters can focus and talk about them at great length.

Shoot around is a story about love and acceptance when you have almost nothing. And I feel like that message can fit a lot with today. The series also does a great job of further building the unique world of the apocalypse without beating your head over it.

Epilogue

Overall I wish that we saw more of Shoot Around as I know now it would be godsent of a webtoon. It shows that loving who you love is not a crime and should always get supported in a world where life is so short. I hope you enjoyed all these multicolored spotlights, and I hope you all managed to get a better sense of yourself over this difficult time.
