Have you ever wanted to thank someone for their help properly? If not, I hope this webtoon can inspire you to start this second spotlight cluster we have, Wednesday Writing Weeklies by Evangeline40003.
Summary
I'm sure all my fellow writers have wanted some desperate info on the tools of the trade. Fear not, though, because Ms. Lynn is here to help. Whether it be writing tips, critique, business, or a simple confidence boost Wednesday Wrtining Weeklies is here every well, Wednesday to deliver a first-hand experience on the matter. So I say you clutch your journals and blaze those pens because it's time to get writing.
Author
It's been a while since I did one of these, but since this is the only spotlight I have contact with the creator, I can let them speak for themselves. Evangeline wanted to be everything in her youth, a paleontologist, historian; you name it, she probably thought of it. However, to research these professions, she decided to turn to the most readily available source possible: television.
Through the realm of stories, she soon realized that writing could technically let her be everything at once. So by the time college rolled around, she pursued a major in Creative Writing. Despite the later allure of marketing and business (don't worry, I was confused), she stuck to her path and now works as a freelance writer who produces commissions after developing an impressive portfolio.
However, outside of her profession, she drinks tea like she has a problem. Surrounded by an army of houseplants and is a confirmed cat lady. And most importantly of all, it has a fantasy book series in the works since I need more competition out there.
Overview
WWW is a revised, illustrated, and re-uploaded version of her advice series: Writing Wednesday. This was mainly to tackle writing tips in a bite-sized and more digestible format instead of, like, a train's worth of exposition. That said, everything I explained in the intro is true.
Whether through the more artistic WEBTOON version or the blog style found on DeviantArt, this is made a safe space for writers of all creeds and skill levels with different types of writing in mind. All tied together through relatable human experiences from her past. No matter how seriously you take the advice, you can tell there's a real sense of heart and personality in these tips. Something I struggle with even now.
There are only a few chapters out right now, but I'm excited to see how future ideas get adapted. Especially with the promise of possible future writers also possibly getting a spotlight in the future. I'm saying on that front that I'm always happy to join in if possible.
Epilogue
And that was that for the first spotlight of this new cluster. I know it's different from what I normally cover, but it's been an honor to do this spotlight. I've been writing commissions for over five months now and have been writing for almost four years. And while I'm thankful for the support I've gotten, it sometimes gets lonely.
I still don't know how to heck I can make my dreams into reality. I sometimes feel like I'm running on a hamster wheel with no end in sight. I haven't met many who've shared my passion or even given a real damn about me. So to see someone else succeed, and reach out to me, means the world. This is why this will be the only spotlight where I provide a direct link. Because I think she deserves some light, if only because it gives me hope the spotlight will come towards me one day.
