To a dear friend

I use to dislike you

Roll my eyes when you spoke

Pull away from your hugs

Talk about you in annoyance

Then I met you

Truly met you

You'd come over about once a week

We'd lay on the floor and just talk

You were there when I needed your help

Whether it be math or social things

You were there

As the years went by we drifted apart

We still talked

We would hangout occasionally

You had your friends

I had mine

And yet you were still there

All I had to do was call

You wouldn't even bat an eye

Still years later

You were the older sister I never had

Then it happened

I was no longer the one needing help

I turned to help as soon as I knew

But it might have been to late

You might have gone to deep

If only I had paid attention

Seen the signs

If only I had been a better friend

Like you were mine

AN: I wrote this a few months ago but feel like updating. I'm not sure if that last part makes sense. Oh well.
