Chapter 13
“Sophia?” I looked up and there was Philip. He was shirtless and wearing bordies and was soaking wet. He looked so good. I felt my cheeks heat up and a smile work its way onto my face.
“Hi Philip” I said standing up and dusting the sand off of my clothes.
“Hey how are you?” he asked
“Good and you?”
“Would it be corny if I said better now?” he asked with a side smile. I grinned
“No it wouldn't” I replied
“Mum here is your chan...” I looked up as Tessa strolled over with her ice-cream. Her eyes ran up the full length of Philip and then a bright smile graced her lips
“Hi I’m Tessa. I’m the awesome daughter and you are?” she asked holding out her hand. Philip shook her hand and smiled
“I’m Philip. Your mum and I went out the other night” he said grinning
“Oh so you’re Philip” she said wiggling her eyebrows making me laugh
“Tessa!” I warned but she shrugged and sat back on the sand
‘So what are you lovely ladies up to today?” Philip asked. I bit my lip
“I think we are going to have dinner later on” I said shrugging
“Wow me too” he said sending me a wink. I smiled and looked at the ground before looking at him. He sat down next to Tessa and I sat back down too. “So would you like to have dinner together?” he asked looking at me
“Um... I don't know”
“We would love to” Tessa butted in sending me a smile. I sent her a warning look which she ignored
“Great it’s settled. You, Tessa and me together for dinner and I am taking you two out” he said grinning.
“We aren’t dressed to go out anywhere but the beach” I said looking at my clothes
‘I think you look great” he said smiling. His words had my heart sputter a bit and it made me blush.
“Thank you” I said softly. He grinned and we talked for the whole afternoon before Philip announced that it was dinner time. Tessa was groaning that she was starving making me and Philip laugh. We ended up having takeaway and sitting in the car park of the beach.
“Does this count as our second date?” Philip asked. I contemplated it while taking a sip of my lemonade. I looked back at Tessa who was actually dozing in the back.
“Yeah I think it does” I said smiling at him. He sighed before gently leaning in and caressing my cheek. My whole body heated up and I thought he was going to kiss me but he just kissed my cheek, his lips lingering there for a second longer than a peck. I closed my eyes loving how close we were but too soon it was over. I looked at him and he sent me his signature smile before nodding his head to Tessa
“Should probably get her home” he said softly. I nodded and he got out of my car before leaning back in
“Will you call me?” he asked. I frowned wondering why he wanted me to be the one to call but it made me smile
“If you’re good” I said winking
“Definitely baby girl” he said winking back and shutting the door quietly. I started the car and waited until he was in his before going home. When I arrived home they were gone which was a good thing. I gently woke Tessa up and told her to go to bed while I went to see Jaime. When I knocked he opened the study door
