Chapter 4
Sophia’s P.O.V
Tessa decided that she wanted to make dinner for me and Jaime on Sunday so we were thrilled. We were banned from the kitchen until it was done so I grabbed a glass and offered Jaime one. We both had a wine but before he could take a sip I smelt burning and I heard crying
“Tessa?!” I asked getting up and running to the kitchen. When I walked in she was sitting in the middle of the kitchen covered in flour
“Honey are you alright?” I asked running to her side. I knelt down beside her before watching Jaime open the over and begin coughing at the smoke. He turned the oven off and then cleaned up.
“I can’t cook!” she wailed
‘Oh honey it takes time”
“But you can make anything!” she said through tears
“Sweetheart when I was your age I was terrible. Jaime wouldn't touch my food but I got better with practice and followed the recipes step by step. Don't let this bring you down” I said running a hand through her hair. She nodded and her bottom lip quivered and then she stood.
“What are we going to have for dinner?” she asked through her tears
“It’s Sunday” Jaime said mysteriously before running and grabbing the phone. He was on the phone for about ten minutes before walking back in with a wide smile
“We have somewhere to go so go and have a shower Tessa” Tessa did as she was told and I looked at Jaime
“Where are we going?” I asked suspiciously
“Just a friend’s house” he said shrugging. It took ten minutes for Tessa to get ready and when she was finally ready both me and Jaime had finished our wine. “On our way I am getting some dessert and then getting a bottle of wine to take” Jaime said as we left.
I finally knew where we were going when Jaime turned down a familiar street. A street that I frequently turned into
“Oh no” I said flinching back into the seat as if it would get me further away from the place. I turned to Jaime angrily “You should have told me where we were going!” I snapped
“Where are we mum?” Tessa asked leaning forward
“I knew you would react like this so I didn't want to tell you” he said calmly.
“I don't want to be here yet!” I yelled
