Chapter 20
When I got home Jaime was gone again so I was home alone. I changed into a pair of tracky pants and a loose shirt. I threw my hair up in a loose bun before going downstairs and grabbing a glass of wine. I curled up on the couch and started watching television. I absently played with my ring by spinning it around my finger before looking at it. I sighed thinking about whether I was doing the right thing or whether I was making a mistake. To be honest I missed Taylor and I didn't like not seeing him. According to Suzie his visits were getting less frequent. Then I thought about Maree who just found out that he was having twins. They were both boys which was wonderful for her. Dex was working a lot and when he wasn’t at work he spent his days creating the nursery for Maree. I thought that was so cute. Maree often spent her days here when I was home and she always had a new picture of a wedding dress that I might like. None of them stood out. Tomorrow I was supposed to go shopping with her, Dana and Suzie because Tessa would be at school. I wasn’t in the mood to go shopping but I needed to go otherwise I would never find a dress.
The next day I was whisked all over town looking for the perfect dress. Dana kept giving me ball gowns that were hideous, Suzie went for conservative and Maree kept giving me revealing ones. None of them really knew my taste. Suzie and Dana would occasionally have an argument because of Gia and Taylor but one look from me shut them up. God it was frustrating. I was searching the racks looking aimlessly until I saw one that made my heart race. It was simply yet elegant. The dress was strapless and a chiffon like material on the outside with silk underneath. A silver sash was tied around the waist and finished as a bow at my waist. The rest of the sash dropped down to be part of the dress flow. It was beautiful and I saw myself in it. I grabbed the dress and walked into the change-room. I changed into the dress and then I heard Dana asking Maree about her babies.
“Suzie?” I called from inside.
“Yes darling?”
“Can you please help me?” I requested. I heard her chuckle before the curtain slightly parted and she stepped in
“Oh my god... you look beautiful” she whispered. I smiled and she zipped the dress up and smiled at me.
“Jaime will be so proud” she said softly. I nodded and hugged her before we stepped out
‘That’s the one” Maree said. Dana looked at me and frowned slightly
“I’m not seeing it. Sorry honey but I just think Philip will prefer something else” she said pursing her lips
“It is my dress not Philip’s and he will love it” I said grudgingly. She threw her hands up
“What would I know I’m just his mother” she muttered walking off to find something else. I turned to Suzie shocked
“She is driving me insane” I whispered. Suzie smiled and mouth I know before fiddling with the dress a bit
“Have we come to a decision?” the bridal lady asked
“Yes I think this is the dress” Maree said
“It looks simply beautiful” the woman said grinning
“I’ll take it” I said. she nodded and I went back in to my change room to take the dress off. I put it back on the hanger and handed the dress over to the woman who put it through for me. My dress was expensive but I knew that I wouldn't find anything else.
“Ok where to next?” Maree asked. I looked at her ballooning belly
“How about some lunch?” I asked. She nodded eagerly and we all went to have some lunch. During lunch Dana didn't say much and I think it was because she didn't get her way with the dress.
