Becky POV :

Why did she do that?

As soon the screen glinted with her face, my heart flickered when a wave of feelings of a "deja vu" hit me. Change terrified me, but familiarity soothed me. The fact that it was her of all people.. I couldn't admit it yet; maybe I had it all wrong?

Maybe it was not pity all along.

I lay on my bed and I wonder if she felt it too. If this subtle change of air was true to her as much as it was to me. My head was in a frenzy, foggy with ghostly thoughts of the like. Jaded, I make a long sigh out and I grab my phone again.

" @ GayQueen *sad emoji* I'm sorry to hear what happened to you. It pains my heart! We love you. Hang in there!"

I stretch with a guttural grown as I throw my phone away with a wince. That is right. That is what it looked like.

"Thanks for the reminder"

Sonya POV :

School felt different. When we met this morning, they had their doubts, but I couldn't let them know what it was about as I didn't know myself. My head was in the clouds, and I was dislocated from my body while Delancey towed me around. She didn't know, she wouldn't; that while she was chatting about some party she wanted us to go to, I was looking for Becky, I wanted to see her.

She nudges me. "Zoning out again?"

-" Are you sick?" She touches my forehead and I dodge her hand.

-" I'm okay. Where is-" I bite my lip.

She shakes her head. " Whatever. will you come to the party ? ".

My mouth opens in an attempt when Becky comes into my field of vision, somewhere among the crowds. Her hands inside her pockets as always, her gaze seemed vain as she made her way through. That is when I realized; She was not coming to me. Unlike me, she was not looking for me. She didn't want to see me. Maybe I got too ahead of myself. Maybe it was all in my head. She didn't look my way, but my eyes couldn't leave her.

Nothing has changed.

-" I'm starting to hate this." I hear her hissing at my side.

-"I'm sorry. I'm a bit all over the place" I mumble, but it was far from appeasing her frown.

-" You've become an old TV that functions for a second and crashes for an hour"

I crack a smile. " Good one"

-"Try harder" she parodies before she starts making her way to class. With a light chuckle, I charge in to catch up to her.
