Chapter 28

Honey's POV

Honey took out her phone and quickly composed a message. Inis na pinindot niya ang sent button bago hinawakan ang manibela ng kotse.

'Where are you?'

She exhaled the breath she was holding and found out that her hands are shaking. Mabilis niyang pinagpag ang kamay.

Inantay niyang tumunog ang cellphone niya and when it pinged ay agad niyang hinablot iyon. Umangat agad ang kilay niya sa nakitang message nito.

How predictable.

'At the gym, why?'

Her fingers are quick to make a reply. 'I'll be there.'

Hindi niya na binuksan ang panibagong message sa taong tinext niya. She started the key and looked one last time at Roni's face. Kunot ang noo nito but Honey is so angry that she wants to confront the one who did this to Roni and Clio. Kung hindi ay maloloka na siya sa pinag gagawa ng taong iyon.

Mahigpit ang hawak ni Honey sa manibela nang umalis siya sa condo niya. The only person she knows that could possibly do this is James Monteverde himself!

Siya pa tuloy ang pinag hinalaan ng bruhang si Clio, and rat poison? How could he be so low? Seryoso ba itong lasunin pati ang girlfriend nito? He really has a sick mind! Idadamay pa nito si Roni?! Akala niya ay napag usapan na nilang hindi nito gagawan ng masama ang bestfriend niya, or else she will leak the video.

Honey bit her fingernails as she saw the gym. Roni will hate her kung malalaman nito ang lahat but she needs to do something about it. Ngayon pa lang ay sisiguraduhin niyang hindi mag sasalita si James at tigilan na nito ang pananakot sa bestfriend niya. Roni can't hate her!

Minaniobra niya ang sasakyan nang makita ang parking lot. She parked the car. Agad din siyang umibis sa sasasakyan. She quickly walked towards the basketball gym she secretly met James before.

Mabibigat ang hakbang at mariin niyang kinagat ang ipin niya. Pumasok siya sa loob ng gym and she saw the same guys James always comes here with. Mukhang nagulat ang mga ito nang makita siya but not Hunter.

Ngumisi siya ng makita ito. Hindi alam ni James na hawak niya si Hunter sa leeg. He's gay and he doesn't want anyone to find out lalo na si James. James is a asshat guy that is also a homophobic. Kaya hindi talaga aamin si Hunter dito.

Honey crossed her arms.

Kumunot ang noo ni James nang makita siya. Mukhang hindi nito alam na nag-text siya kay Hunter para itanong kung asan na ang mga ito.

Maangas na pinag bangga nito ang bola na hawak nito sa kanang kamay papunta sa kaliwa. Then he lifted his chin when he looked at her.

Honey stopped herself from rolling her eyes. He is such a show-off.

"Psych! What are you doing here, huh?"

Bwisit talaga ang bibig nito! Honey wants to tape his mouth with stapler. She bit her lip and looked him in the eye with a sharp intensity. He was always calling her a psycho. Kung alam lang nito. Gusto niyang pakuan ang bibig nito.

"What did you do?"

Saglit itong natulala sa kanya and when he recovered, James started laughing. Mukhang na-realize na nito ang tinutukoy niyang ginawa nito.

Umangat ang kilay ni Honey. She waited for him to stop laughing. Tiningnan niya din paisa isa ang mga kabarkada nitong obviously ay takot sa binata. They knew what he is capable of, kaya siguro ganito ang mga ito. No one even dare to counter his every statement.

"Tapos ka na?"

"What?" James shrugged his shoulders. "It was a practical joke."

"Joke?! If you ever did that again to Roni. I swear lalabas ang baho niyong mag kakaibigan. You will have a one-time straight ticket to jail."

Nawala ang ngisi sa labi nito. James looked at her with a piercing eyes and Honey almost flinched.

But she stood her ground and gritted her teeth.

"Alright. I'll keep my ends of the bargain. So, keep yours." James said.

She makes a come-hither motion to him.

Ngumisi ito at tumingin sa mga kasama nito. But his team mates can't even look him straight in the eyes. Nakayuko ang iba sa mga ito at yung iba naman ay nakabaling sa ibang lugar ang tingin. Maliban na lang kay Hunter na ang sama ng tingin sa kanya.

James shrugged-off and went towards her. Ngumisi ito at inilapit ang mukha sa kanya. As if about to kiss her.

As if naman she will try to kiss Monteverde. Over her dead body.

"Wow. Have you already cross the boundaries?" He whispered.

Honey sets her lips in a thin line. He puts his face closer to her. When he was at her personal space. Tiningnan niya ang ibaba nito and James followed where her eyes went. Honey used that to put up her knees and kneed him on where it hurts the most.

Nanlaki ang mga mata nito at mabilis na hinawakan ang gitnang bahagi ng katawan nito. Then he started jumping while pointing his right hand at her.

"B-Bwisit! Argh!" He puts a fist up in the air as if to punch her pero ngumisi lang si Honey.

Siya ang may hawak ng alas sa kanilang dalawa and he can't do nothing about it. Hanggang pag babanta lang ito dahil kapag sinaktan siya nito ay sisiguraduhin niyang lalabas ang ebidensiya laban dito.

Hunter stood up and Honey glared at him. He gritted his teeth and glared at her too. Pumunta ito sa pwesto ni James.

"Ayos ka lang, James?"

But Monteverde can't do nothing but moan and close his eyes in pain.

"This is my lesson to you, James. Isa pang maling galaw or you do things not in the plan I will make sure that you will go to jail along with a broken jewel. Nag kakaintindihan ba tayo?"

Mabilis itong tumango nang nakapikit. Honey smirked. She's satisfied with that.

Tinalikuran niya na ang mga ito. She puts up a middle finger habang nag lalakad siya papunta sa exit door ng gym. Nakita niya pa ang pag tulong ng mga kasamahan ni Monteverde para maitayo ito.

Her time with Roni is cut short because of these clowns. Kaya kailangang mag bayad ang leader ng mga ito. Pagkalabas ni Honey sa gym ay agad siyang sumakay sa kotse niya. Hoping that she will still be able to see Roni off. Dumaan din muna siya sa isang convenience store para bumili ng ice cream.

But when she entered the house ay wala na si Roni. A letter was attached to a ref magnet. Honey carefully put the sticky noted out of it. She held the paper and put it levelled to her eyes.

'I'm going home. I cooked a dinner for you. Kumain ka please. I'm sorry about sa pag file ni Tori ng kaso sayo. I'll try to talk to her.'

Honey's hands are about to close on the sticky note but she stopped herself. Pumikit siya saglit at huminga ng malalim.

Because of James. Ngayon ay lalapit na naman si Roni kay Tori. Maayos na ang plano nila but that a-hole ruined it.
