She wears her heart on her sleeve
But only some are allowed to see the broken pieces
And it never mattered what he did or she said but that weekend together mixed with a little bad weather never ceases to leave her beating heart shattered
Pitter patter
Bitter sadder
What's the matter with this girl?
Mad hatter
Broken battered
Will she ever make it in this world?
With a twist and a twirl her turmoil is dismissed
Nevertheless she will persist
She insists that she's okay
Maybe for today
But what about tomorrow?
Happiness can't be borrowed she owes it to herself to find peace in her existence
There's just too much distance between the screen and his hand
She swears she's not mean but you've forced her hand
Please, baby, I just need you to understand
Her man isn't really her man he's merely the man in the mirror
He can't deliver on his promises
Though his promises be empty his honesty is plenty when will she finally figure out what she wants?
She knows she wants him but when she thinks about them the future seems dim
There's a slim chance this will work
But there's a fat chance this will hurt
She loves him too much there's no way she can desert him
So should she still flirt with him?
Lift up her skirt for him?
Eat it up like desert for him?
Live her life on a whim with him?
It's grim
There's no way she can win
And there's no way they can take back what they did
