Part 2 of meeting his family, this time its Harry's turn to meet Draco's parents.
Harry had just stepped in the door from running errands. He took his jacket off, slipped off his shoes and made his way to the kitchen to grab a drink. Sitting on the counter was the mail, he sorted through it, most of it was junk, until he spotted an envelope addressed to Draco with a familiar seal on it. He couldn't quite place where he knew the seal from, but he recognized it.
"Babe, you have a letter." Harry said walking into their home office where Draco was sitting at his desk finishing some paper work.
"A letter... ugh what do they want now?" Draco's faced dropped.
"What's wrong?"
"Its from my parents." Draco sighed and opened the letter.
Dear Draco,
It has come to our attention that you have a partner who you have been seeing for an extended period of time. While we understand you have your reasons for not telling us, we do wish to meet them. Come to dinner at the manor, Saturday at 5pm sharp, do not be late.
Your parents
Draco knit his eyebrows together and read the letter multiple times before sighing and putting it on the desk. Harry curiously picked it up, and read it. He went pale almost immediately.
"They want to meet me?"
"Apparently, I'm not even sure how they found out, I haven't talked to them in ages." Draco replied.
"What do we do?, they hate me."
"Harry love, they don't hate you, but we have to go, they don't like being stood up."
Harry stayed put, all the possible scenarios reeling through his mind, what could go wrong, what might be said, all increasing his anxieties. Draco just pulled Harry into his lap and wrapped his arms around the others waist.
"Stressing yourself out isn't going to help anything, we have three days to prepare before going over."
"This must be how you felt before we went to the burrow" Harry stated staring into Draco's face.
"Filled with dread, and fear, sounds about right." Draco tried to joke
"How am I supposed to make it through the rest of the work week like this."
"You will find a way, come on lets go make dinner, and you can try and show me how to use the oven again." Draco laughed and pulled himself and Harry up, walking to the kitchen.
The next three days went by so slowly Harry thought he was being tortured. All he could think about were the possibilities of what could go wrong. Draco did his best to try and ease Harry into a state of calm but it didn't achieve much in the end.
Then it was Saturday, Harry woke up with a pit in his stomach, he didn't want to leave the safety of his bed, or the safety of the flat for that matter. Finally after half an hour Draco had convinced him to get up and at least have some tea. He stood in the kitchen just holding the mug, not paying attention to anything around him.
"Love, you can't stay like that all day." Draco said staring at Harry.
"I could, you just won't let me." Harry replied softly
"Lets go do something, how about we go on a trip to Diagon Alley? Take you mind of later."
"It has been a while, I guess we can go." Harry conceded.
The pair got dressed and headed for their floo, picking up the powder and throwing it at their feet. After a few minutes they appeared, thankfully where they were supposed to be. They wandered the street, occasionally stopping into a store to look at something or buy something they needed. By three-thirty it was time to head home and get ready, the familiar pit increasing its size.
