Cold Weather

Winter was upon Hogwarts in its full magnitude. The snow was thick across the grounds, the lake was frozen solid, and the trees were all bare. Despite the countless warming charms, the castle itself was still cold, many students choosing to wear coats or double up on their robes to keep warm. Harry was sitting in the Great Hall feeling bad for his Slytherin boyfriend who was trying to keep warm with hot chocolate but looked miserable. Sure they were all cold but Draco was much more susceptible since he managed to be cold in the middle of summer on some occasions. Harry cast a wordless warming charm on Draco, which the boy instantly knew was from Harry and looked up with a smile.

The rest of the week was brutally cold, so everyone was thankful when it was the weekend and they wouldn't have to leave the comfort of their dorms unless it was to eat. Saturday was the day Harry and Draco always spent together. Harry would tell the Gryffindor's that he was going to do homework somewhere quiet and Draco would tell the Slytherin's he was going to the library. Which neither answer was true, the couple would sneak into the room of requirements, the only room that they could conjure warm enough and to be by themselves.

Harry sat on a plush couch in front of a fire with the blonde's head resting in his lap. Draco was asleep, his chest rising and falling in a slow rhythm, eyes closed, hair tousled. It was only on Saturday's that either of them got to relax like this without fear of being interrupted or being to cold. Harry began to quietly sing one of his favorite songs as Draco slept.

Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you

Like a river flows, surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
So take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you

Like a river flows, surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
So take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you.
For I can't help falling in love with you.

Harry finished and continued to play with Draco's hair. He was a peace, for the first time in what felt like forever. Content with his life, having his boyfriend laying on him, the fire warming them. It was rare Harry got to feel this nice. His eyes felt heavy and soon he was asleep too.

By the time he woke up, it was time to head down to dinner. Harry hated having to wake up Draco, but he knew if he didn't there would be questions and accusations and it would be more trouble than it was worth so he gently shifted to wake up the sleeping blonde.

"Babe, its time to head down to dinner."

Draco only groaned in response, turning his head slightly so he was looking at Harry.
"I didn't know you could sing."

"Y-you heard me?" Harry stuttered his face turning red

"Yes, and it was lovely, I drifted off again as you were singing." Draco replied sitting up and rubbing his eyes.

"If I knew it would help so much I would have sung to you sooner." Harry said

"There's always next weekend." Draco winked, he had gotten up and was in the doorway, about to leave.
"I also don't mind being your darling."

Harry sat on the couch for a minute, processing what had just happened. Finally he got to his feet and walked to the Great Hall. He took his usual spot next to Ron and across from Hermione. They all ate in piece, Harry occasionally sneaking glances at the Slytherin table.
