It was almost time to go back to Hogwarts, for the final time in Harry's case. He was going back because he wanted to, not because he had to or was being forced. In fact, he was one of the few eighth years who were going back to the castle to complete their education and take their NEWTS. Harry knew that Ron and Hermione were of course going back along with Neville, Dean and Seamus, but other than that there was no news of who was attending their make up seventh year. All of them had changed greatly since the war. Ron had grown into himself and was growing shaggy ginger facial hair that Hermione hated, saying it scratched her face when he was near for a kiss. Hermione had gotten a muggle perm to tame her hair, which was now long and straight and she had grown into a woman with admirable curves. Harry had changed the most. After the war he had taken out all his emotions at a muggle gym. He had built so much muscle he was only recognizable by the scar on his forehead. Harry had even cut his hair so that it was long on top to form a quiff and buzzed at the sides. He had changed entirely, even personality wise Harry was different, not that they all hadn't changed a bit, but Harry had become a whole new person. It was a good change though, he smiled more, was happier and was overall a calmer person, he was more laid back and less easy to anger, his temper had faded greatly since his stress levels were down. According to those left of the order of the Phoenix, Harry was somewhere between his dad and Sirius in personality.

Harry was packing his things into his trunk, using a spell of course. Now that he was of age and able to use magic, it had become a staple of his life. Using it to help clean up Grimmauld place with the help of his friends. They had even managed to remove the picture of Sirius' mother, making the house much more peaceful. Though it wasn't the same without Remus and Sirius, so Hermione and Ron had moved into one of the spare rooms, meaning Harry wasn't alone all of the time. Though he was frequently out at muggle bars, staying at other men's houses and such. Harry knew he was gay and had embraced it after the war, becoming more of himself than ever, though he never came out to the wizarding world, preferring to allow speculation about whether or not he had ever been with Ginny .He was lost in though when a voice behind him brought him back to reality.

"Im sorry, what did you say?" Harry asked turning to see Ron

"It's time for dinner, Hermione just finished" Ron repeated his original statement.

Harry smiled and walked down the stairs behind Ron to the kitchen. He loved the system that the three of of them had, each night they would swap who cooked dinner and one night a week they would get take away or eat out. It worked for them, no one felt they had to much responsibility and they even all split the house chores. He smiled as Hermione finished setting the table and sat down.

"So, finished packing you two?" Hermione asked

"Yes mum" Harry replied with a chuckle

"Good, we are leaving on time tomorrow and not late, which means the both of you better be up and ready to go." Hermione said, looking at Ron with a face that spoke louder than words.

"Alright, I will set an alarm" Ron replied, throwing his hands up slightly.

Harry just laughed slightly at the interaction and continued eating his dinner. That night, it was Ron's turn to clean up and Harry's to do the dishes. This was done with the flick of a wand, but still they all took turns. After dinner, Harry went for a walk to think about starting school again. He mostly thought about a single person who he had missed in an odd way. A certain blonde who would stay in his head and be a constant feature in his most lewd dreams. He wasn't certain of his feelings, but what he did know is he couldn't wait to see how the other had changed. Harry returned to his room just as it got dark and fell asleep fairly peacefully in his bed.

Harry woke at the crack of dawn the next morning to do his normal exercise routine that was usually about two hours long depending of how he felt emotionally. Today he was anxious so he went for as long as he could before becoming exhausted and dragging himself to the shower. The hot water rinsing away the nerves and sweat as  steam filled the room. Eventually he heard the shuffling of Hermione and Ron getting up and decided to get out of the shower and dressed. Harry had learned to appreciate doing his hair and styling it, as well as taming the small short beard he had grown that laid close to his face, similar to Ron's but much more taken care off. After he was fully ready, Harry brought his trunk downstairs and left it by the door, meeting his friends for breakfast.
