Then the Field Trip Day started around 10:30am surprisingly I made it on time the bus left for downtown Short Meadow. The large group went around the town of Short Meadow, exploring the Town Hall, Shopping Centers, Police Department, and much more. Our crowd stopped at the City Library for a hour. There Hope bumped into me, and said ," Mason, I thought you were too busy to go on this field trip with your gang."
"Not so loud Hope, I'm not in a gang it's called..." I continued.
Hope blurted out ," Yeah Yeah, TheWildBunch huh? Well, do you know that I still want to join? And if I don't join by the Saturday (which is in two days) then I will tell the whole school about it and your "Gang" and it won't be a "Secret Gang" anymore.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked.
"You ought to know. If not then figure it out.." Hope sarcastically said.
Once the field trip was over I went to Jason, Layton and Kane. I told them, "Guys, Hope Fields wants to join our gang and if she doesn't by Saturday she will expose our gang.
"That's really not good. This could be that loose lip we definitely don't need." Replied Layton.
"Totally dude for it's bad enough that our reputation gets around. Especially when we were discovering those..." yet Jason was cut off before he could finish his thoughts.
Layton ordered " Be quiet Jason, someone could hear you and then we have no secret. We need to keep these on a discreet level only."
"What secret? I want to know more about this "Bunch." I asked. "Like why those specific caves, is there something peculiar that I should know about?"
"What's to know? We are just a normal group who hangs out together. Most of the time at least, what's wrong with a little thrilling adventure?" Kane replied.
"I have a strange feeling it's more than a normal group, abnormal totally more the sense I feel." I stated.
"Why are you asking all these questions? Trust me once it's the right time we'll confer with you, but for know just listen closely and keep thy mouth shut." Layton said.
"Why aren't you answering any of my questions? I want to know the sole purpose of this group, isn't that available to share?" I questioned.
"He has a point there, Layton maybe we should just tell him about all that we could face." Jason commented.
"Shut it, Jason. Nobody wants to here your absurd opinion." Kane stated.
"Yeah who asked you, Jason? I didn't hear any one of us ask you on what should we do." Layton rudely responded.
"You did? Didn't you? I think you did. Possibly maybe perhaps, well anyhow your getting my input." Jason replied.
"Jason, quiet! Mason, what else did that Hope say to you? We need to know why this random girl is on our case." Kane asked.
"Nothing much. Mostly random stuff. She just recalled meeting me from a past occurrence." I answered.
"Such as? Landmarks, places, or towns? We need to know all what she's heard about us. The info she holds could be deadly towards this group." Layton said.
"Such as what? You guys aren't answering my questions why should I." I responded.
"Mason, and Layton that's enough. We are in TheWildBunch why are we fighting?" Kane said.
"I might of said I'm in this Bunch, but you guys never said how long I can stay. I can tell when I'm not wanted." I replied, as sat up, grabbed my pack and walked away without looking back.
"I thought he joined permanently. He seemed like such a good guy, it's definitely a shame to see him go." Jason asked, as he rubbed his forehead in confusion.
"I guess we were wrong about him. Really wish I wasn't Mason seems super chill." Kane remarked.
"Whoa, That was surprising. I wonder if he still a part of us." Jason said.
"Yeah, I wonder if he'll ever come back with us. If Mason doesn't then we'll have to have a long chat with him." Layton responded.
After that commotion Mason hopped on his bike, rode up and down the hills of Short Meadow about 10 miles until he reached his hometown Midwich. Finally after just over 15 minutes he arrived back around Tyson's house and saw him in his front lawn.
I said, "Hey Tyson, what are you doing? I just rode back from the school, for the group has been nothing but trouble so far."
"Nothing much really yikes that sounds like your in a pickle." Tyson replied. "I heard that Hope has been trouble" Tyson continued.
" Yes, but how do you know? We haven't talked in days." I answered.
"Do you remember, Maddy Maya? The girl you met in like 4th grade, everyone made fun of her." Tyson said.
I replied, " Oh yeah, I thought I saw her after the field trip. It's surely been a while since I've last seen her though."
"You're right you probably did, because Maddy goes to Short Meadow High now. She also told me about your guys plans. I heard you're sort of out of TheWildBunch. Please let that be true!" Tyson answered.
"WHAT!!! So she's spying on us? I'm not officially out, for I kind of walked out." I shouted.
"You ought to walk out for good. Yesterday I was at Short Meadow Library, and I saw Maddy spying on you guys." Tyson said.
"Oh shoot I better tell the guys for tomorrow!!! I'll talk to you later! I gotta go bye!" I responded, while running towards my place.
"Huh? What's tomorrow?" Tyson asked me. "Finish your conversations first please!" Tyson shouted back at me.
Then I called Layton and said, " Hey can we meet somewhere private before we go to the caves. I have something important to tell you all?"
"I thought you were out of TheWildBunch." Layton asked.
"Nah.. That whole argument was my fault and I'm sorry about all that." I replied.
"You surely go that right! Okay, just meet us by the stop sign 5 miles away from the caves." Layton continued.
"I'll also pass this message to Jason and Kane. I'll see you there!" Layton finished.
"Okay, I'll be there at 2 o'clock. Also sorry for all the chaos I cause earlier today." I replied.
"No problems! It's great to have you back on the team!" Layton said happily.
"It's even greater to be back! See y'all soon!" I answered.
"That's a fact. Bye, see you tomorrow afternoon." Layton replied, and hung up the phone.
Then I went to bed and thought about tomorrow's adventure. "Mason you still didn't realize that I might have got myself this time too deep. Honestly any possible good outcome would be beneficial. Hopefully it'll all go well." Mason fell almost immediately asleep after those thoughts.
