We rode our bikes towards my neighborhood. Once we arrived there I was surprised to see more than two cars on my driveway. We had to cut through the grass in order to park our bikes nearby the shed.

"Mason, why are there a lot of cars on your driveway? I thought your uncle is the only person at  your place." Maddy asked, knowing which driveway is mine.

"Apparently not at this moment." I answered back, as I parked my bike in the shed and proceeded to the front door with Maddy, Tyson, and Hope.

"What if that crazy nut Langhammer and his henchmen followed us from the old school?" Maddy worriedly said, as she held the door handle.

"It could be a possibility for we didn't make an effort to cover the tracks and trails we took towards your place Mason." Tyson deciphered, as he tried putting two and two together.

"I don't think he's that dumb. If I were him I'd be packing up, and moving out of his current hideout due to the evidence we took." I said, as I held the evidence that we stole, and opened the door with caution.

I saw my parents, sister, my Aunt Mary, and some other people, sitting next to Uncle Mitch in our living room area.

"Mia!" Maddy shouted, as she and Hope went to hug their friend.

"Well Mason I see you finally decided to return from your wilderness adventure." Uncle Mitch sternly said.

"What wilderness adventure? Is there something I should know?? You know how I've always felt about the kids sticking their noses into the business." Dad demanded with a stern look across his face.

"Dad, I only went on a hike and I promise nothing too serious happen." I replied calmly, although knowing more however Maddy wasn't going to let the truth slide.

"Mason you "only" fell off a bridge, and got hurt pretty badly. Isn't that serious enough?" Maddy  stated, as the rest of his family overheard this new.

"A bridge? How did you get hurt? I thought your supposed to walk on a bridge not fall." Mia teased while pulling up a chair.

"Ha..ha that's a good one Mia." Hope said, while doing a secret girl handshake.

"How badly did you get hurt?" Mom indeterminately asked, while trying to look at Mason appearance to make sure he was alright.

"Not that badly. A couple of bruises on my back and right arm from hitting a tree branch." I replied, as my aunt went to the kitchen. For my auntie notice the slight limb I have received from the journey.

"Here's an ice pack to put on your ankle." Aunt Mary said, while coming back from the kitchen and handing my the ice pack.

"Thanks Aunt Mary." I said, while graciously accepted it.

"Let me know once it becomes numb and I'll have another one ready for you Mason." Aunt Mary replied with a concerning smile.

"Yes ma'am I think I'll survive without the ice packs auntie." Mason commented after he took a few steps trying to leave the room his dad seemed a little less thrilled about this whole occurrence.

"I heard you went spying on your so-called adventure." Dad said, trying to find some answers to this bizarre caper.

"How do you know that?" I asked suspiciously, as I looked at Maddy and Hope due to it seems like secrets spill whenever they're around.

"I know your code you shouldn't underestimate a detective, especially when it's your own father. Eagle Eye means spying which if I recall correctly was invented by me." Dad answered, although he was holding the real journal.

"How? It's written only in my journal. Oh wait that's Tyson and Hope found us. You told them where to go." I replied, figuring out the escape how it became possible.

"Yes, however you wasted your time going there. Jeremy and his men were reported just within the last hour last seen at Eagle Ridge." Dad said, as he got a weird look on his face.

"Mark, lets get to the facts and evidence we have, instead of these so-called reports." A guy said, who looked impatient.

"Oh course Commissioner." Dad answered immediately.

"What evidence or eye witness do you have against Langhammer? It better be good. I don't want to be the laughingstock of the committee once again." The commissioner replied, as he continued to drink his cup of coffee.

"No this time we have key witness. May I present John Wadewood." Dad said, as a guy stepped forward with his wife and son.

"Mr. Wadewood. I've heard a great deal about you." Comissioner Craig reported, as he shook John's hand.

"All good I hope." John answered, with a bright expression.

"We shall see. Now what was your business with Langhammer?" Commissioner Craig determinately asked.

"I was his main buyer due to my son's illness. Also whenever he'd meet some new handlers I would always be there." John replied, as he sat down in relief.

"That means you were close to all ongoing operations?" Dad asked, just before showing John's wife and son to the other living. For it was John's private decision whether he'd testify against him or not.

"Yes most definitely. I mean this product was tested on my personal son several times and it seemed to be working fine until Langhammer altered it way to many times." John replied to Dad's question without hesitation.

"Well it looks like Langhammer had full confidence in you. What happened?" Commissioner Craig answered.

"One time a normal exchange went wrong. Once a squad of police and FBI showed up we quickly tried to leave the scene, however one of the cops shot Jeremy in the leg. Jeremy confronted him and they fought for a bit. The cop was hurt, however he wasn't killed although Jeremy wanted no witnesses so he handed me a gun, and told me to kill him. " John said, as he grabbed a cup and poured himself some coffee.

"Okay. What else happened?" Commissioner Craig asked, as he handed Mark a folder.

"I obviously objected in shooting him. Jeremy ordered me to, but I still refused so he tried to shoot me instead, however I thankfully slid behind a couple of boxes just in the nick of time." John responded back.

"How long have you carry these thoughts? Like when did this horrible situation happen?" Mark questioned wanting to get to the bottom of it.

"At least two years ago. Although I was still able to work around till this day, due to the unlimited connections and class I inquired. I'm just able to sell to the right dealers and whenever he's in a tight spot I am the one risking it all. Basically the main reason he escaped custody too, yet I'm extremely that had to result like that." John reported, while handing him a decently, large sized folder.

"What's in that folder, Commissioner?" Dad asked, as he opened it and looked at the papers that said CLASSIFIED.

"I'm guessing all the names, info, and documents of stolen goods and anything in the field of relation to that." Commissioner Craig answered Mark, while looking through all that the things he just listed.

"You are exactly correct Commissioner those are pages of years Jeremy has been getting away with extortion and taken advantage of others. It's all in those 35 pages of evidence and I'm willing to be the main witness." John said firmly, with that broad statement and evidence Langhammer stands no chance, or does he?!
