Slid Inside

Once Jeremy Langhammer and his henchmen were inside the building in the far corner of the school's property. Maddy and I walked cautiously to where they came from. The building we went towards is the main building that has a brick door, two or more levels, and a lot of classrooms. Then Maddy started to open the door and walk in slowly until I grabbed her.

"Why did you stop me from entering? Nobody's in here, and the door's open as well." Maddy questioned me, as she stopped and turned around.

"I don't think these guys would just leave a building, and go to a different one without setting up some kind of alarm or trap devices." I said, as I looked all around the door but couldn't find a thing.

"Well maybe you're wrong. We probably outsmarted them." Maddy replied, however she walked through a dark hallway and accidentally tripped a motion detector that opened a trapdoor, sliding her down into a cellar.

"Great. Now look what have you done." I said, as I slid down to the cellar just before the trapdoor closed.

"It's not my fault. I thought you checked everything." Maddy answered back, as she found a old bench and sat down.

"They probably know we're here by now." I mumbled, while pacing around the room.

"Who's they?" Maddy asked.

"Langhammer and his henchmen. They must have received some kind of signal from those motion detecters." I worriedly replied, as I looked around the cellar for a light switch or a way to get out.

Meanwhile.......

Beep beep beep......... The alarm went off for the motion detectors in a small cabin, where Jeremy and his men were.

"What is that horrifying noise?" Jeremy complained, as he stood up immediately from the couch he was sitting on.

"It's only the alarm that me and the boys set up, boss." Hank Henson told Jeremy, as he gave a stern look at Sid Camus.

"Why are you looking at me? I thought one of you two locked that door?" Sid said, while nervously looking at Hank, and Pablo.

"You were the last one out of the building. I thought you locked the door from the inside." Pablo said, as they continued to argue.

"Quiet! Hank, go with Sid and see what triggered that alarm." Jeremy ordered.

"Right boss. Lets go Sid!" Hank replied, as they went back to the building that Mason and Maddy are inside.

Back at the cellar... Where Mason is fidgeting with some random items. Mason also decided to hold onto a chemical made by Langhammer to really see what it does. He stuffed the experimental glass container in some Styrofoam and carefully put it in his pocket.

"Mason, what in the world are you doing now?" Maddy asked me, as I had a rope and grappling hook in my hand that I found on a shelf nearby.

"If we want to get out of here the only way is to go up." I said, while trying to hook the spring on the trapdoor.

After a few more tries I finally hooked the trapdoor and it opened very easily. Once it was fully open Hank, and Sid saw me.

"Or not this way Maddy, quickly come on!" I told her, as I grabbed her hand and ran towards a dark area of the cellar.

"Get that kid!" Hank commanded, while Sid went to the cellar through a back staircase. All of  the sudden a door opened at end of the cellar. We froze and looked around as Sid ran towards us.

"Hey Mason who are you waiting for? The bad guy?" A familiar voice shouted, I recognized him immediately as we ran towards the shadows. Once we ran past a small opening, a person shut and locked a heavy steel door. I recognized her as well.

"Hope. Tyson. You guys came just in time!" Maddy rejoiced, as she hugged hope.

"How did you find us?" I asked suspiciously.

"You left your bike in such a hurry, that you forgot your journal." Hope said as she showed me my journal, and I quickly snatched it out of her hand.

"How much did you read from my private journal?" I demanded.

"Hey chill Mason. We only read the first page." Hope calmly said.

"Jeez guys. That's the only page I wrote on!" I replied, as I put my journal in my pocket.

"Lets get out of here and stop bickering over something irrelevant." Maddy determinedly said.

"I am all for that!" Hope screamed.

"You guys at least have bikes to ride on, for mines left at the park." I sadly said, although my bike appeared right in front of me.

"Luckily I brought it here." Tyson answered, while handing the bike to Mason.

"No way." I stated, while not being sure if he wasn't lying to me or not. Seeing the bike clarified his case immediately.

"Yes, now can we leave this awful, damped cellar?" Tyson truthfully replied, as he kept hold open the door.

"Yes by all means. Lead on." Hope said, as all of us walked out of the tunnel.

We left the cellar and hopped on our bikes as we rode to our homes. Back at the cellar Jeremy Langhammer confronted Hank and Sid.

"Well what the hell happened here." Jeremy asked, as he looked around and a lot things were out of place.

"Nothing much boss." Hank said, although his partner seemed to have a concerned look across his face.

"I saw a boy take one of your samples." Sid told Jeremy, with a nervous tone.

"What!?! Who?" Jeremy asked furiously, while getting up to his face wanting answers.

"He took one of the samples that you gave to that family. Uh.uh.uh I forgot what's their last name ." Hank confusingly replied.

"Matthews. I should have known." Jeremy growled, while fidgeting with a piece of paper.

"Known what boss? You don't think that Matthew's boy uh.uh was his name? Would come after us? He's only a kid." Hank responded to Jeremy's thoughts.

"Mason. Yes damn it. That kid is 15 years of age by now so he's a teenager. So don't underestimate him." Jeremy replied madly.

"Yes sir. I heard he has some friends. They call themselves TheWildBunch. What should we do?" Sid asked, as he walked upstairs.

"Well they have discovered our hideout. We need to leave immediately." Jeremy determinately said, as he picked up some random items.

"It's not that easy boss. We need to wait for the next shipment of chemicals." Pablo said, as he entered the conference room.

"Alright. How long will that take?" Jeremy demanded, wanting to start freshly.

"At least a week." Pablo replied.

"Then get to it. One week and we'd better be outta this stupid Midwich area or ELSE!!" Jeremy sternly said, while exiting the room going to his sleeping quarters.

"Right away boss." Hank said, as the rest all left the conference room and started to pack some ideas they don't need at the moment onto a moveable container.
