After the confusion TheGranger's struck out not finding a single trace of the perpetrators, so they marched back to the stash only to find the bags distorted. Searching them without hesitation they we shocked to find a bunch of rocks, and no silver coins.
"Well at least we know how Charlie Brown felt when he said "I got a rock." Bucky commented, while grabbing a rock and laughing. Although no one found that funny at all.
"You imbeciles how dare you let those 5 foot twerps swipe our silver." Gus remarked, as he threw the bag on Bucky's foot causing him to get riled up.
"Hey Gus chill out they'll soon pay for their grave mistakes." Gray told the gang, while Bucky limped around to relief his pain.
"I'd say we should beat them at their own game, basically embarrass them in front of the school and exposes also." Gavin answered, while walking besides Gus.
"Sounds like a good plan to me." George commented while looking at the ring leader.
"Alright we'll go ahead with that at high noon (local parks usually occupy their afternoon activities.) tomorrow." Gus said, as the group dispersed and waited for the appointing hour.
By the time Mason got back to home it was close to 10pm, although we only planned to be there a couple of hours, yet it took one third of the day. Mason sneaked onto the roof and climbed into his room from his unlocked window. Then Mason jumped into bed not knowing that TheGranger's had quite a surprise planned for tomorrow.
Mason moaned and groaned yet waking up at a reasonable 9 o'clock the next morning, he tumbled downstairs and smelled some bacon, eggs, and biscuits a cooking. He saw Uncle Mitch away making fresh breakfast for the pack.
"Why come on down Mason, so how were the exciting adventures yesterday young man? Also what happened to be back by dinnertime?" Uncle Mitch questioned, while serving food to Mason and Mia.
"I was just about to tell you the occurrences of yesterday. You see I may have lost track of time, it does happen even to the best of people." Mason confessed, as he picked up his fork and dived into his gravy eggs, with biscuits mix together.
"Mason you never loss track, seems like your always off doing crazy things as of recently." Mia stated, while pouring some orange juice in her cup.
"That might be true Uncle Mitch, however I do try to stay out of any dangerous situations. It's not like I'd step on a time bomb and defuse it before it would blow directly into my face. Could I please go to the local park to hang out with my companions?" Mason said, although he actually did the things which he spoke about.
"Mason, I certainly trust you in making wise decisions and realizing to hang around the right kind of friends. I'm allowing you to go, but you must come straight home because vacuuming needs to be done." Uncle Mitch commanded, as mason gobbled the last of his breakfast and sprinted out to the garage and hopped on his trusty bike.
Once Mason arrived at the local Midwich city park he was astonished the see TheWildBunch there along with his best bud Tyson. Mason rode over to Tyson.
"Hey Tyson what are you all doing here?? I thought we were just going to play basketball ourselves??" Mason questioned as he parked his bike next to an oak tree.
"So did I although TheGrangers had other ideas, I believe they challenged us to a basketball showdown, which we should accept." Tyson replied with a competitive look on his face.
"I'm down for a challenge, I mean it's a New Day hopefully without any New Troubles." Mason commented, as TheWildBunch (Layton, Kane, Jason) walked along side them going towards their competitors.
When we got to the basketball courts, Gus was holding a basketball.
"Well look who all finally decided to show up." Gray stated.
"Of course we're all here. Now what's this challenge that you'll proposed?" Tyson said.
"We were thinking about playing a basketball game to prove our school's team name is going to Be TheGrangers."George said.
"Now how is that going to happen when we are going to destroy you guys." I stated.
"Show me what you got." Gavin commanded.
Gus threw me the ball, I dribbled it, walked to the three point line and swished a three pointer. Gus tried the same, but he carried the ball and missed the shot.
"Ha. See I knew that we are much better at this sport." Tyson said.
"We'll see about that." Bucky stated, "Check up." He continued, while the groups got into positions.
Then we started the game, TheWildBunch got the ball first. TheWildBunch passed the ball around trying to make one of us open. That didn't work. I thew the ball across the court to Tyson he took the shot and he scored!!! Score 3-0!!! Although about after twenty minutes of playing we decided to take a quick break. The score now was at an astonishing 13-19 we are losing and with only five minutes left, however were determined to cut their lead and win so we stole the ball from them ran towards their net and scored three more points!
16-19 was the score.
"Ha Ha we won there is only thirty seconds left and we now lead by five." Gus said.
"It's our ball though." I replied.
Although there were only thirty secs left we hurried passed it and Lace scored for three more points. Now it's 19-21.
"You guys still can't win there's not enough time ten secs."Gavin told us, as we agreed that this game was taking quite a while (for it's already a quarter after 3 o'clock in the afternoon).
Gavin and Tyson argued for a brief moment but Mason quickly broke it up. TheGrangers had the ball rushing in our zone but for no reason Greg pushed Mason down. It got rough. Fists together and punches thrown. After finally breaking it up Gus allowed Mason to shoot three free throws due to Greg's reaction. Mason shot the first two easily in but he got nervous on the last and potential game wining shot. The initial throw was high enough and strong, though it circled the top of the rim about three times and went in!!!
We won the game!!!!! 22-21!
"All of you were lucky, but we'll be back." Gus said grinning.
"You better prepare yourselves." Gray stated.
"How about all you Grangers prepare come better for your own challenges next time." I questioned, with a broad stance.
"Grangers we are leaving now." Gus firmly stated as TheGranger's left and we started for our homes. On the way back we couldn't stop talking about that shot Mason did!!!
