The next morning was hard for Mason to get up. During the night he suddenly woke up, and hit the ceiling right above his bunk bed. Finally around eight am Mason stumbled out of bed, and went downstairs to prepare breakfast. Once Mason made it to the kitchen he heard someone knocking at the front door.

"Who in the world gets up at eight'o five?" I thought out loud, while looking at my watch, and walking towards the door.

"Your favorite uncle, and aunt." Uncle Mitch replied, as they entered in.

"Obviously. I should have known." I stated, while walking back into the kitchen, and grabbing a box of cereal.

"Mason, what are you eating?" Aunt Mary asked, as she took the cereal box from me.

"Uh.h.h breakfast. What's wrong with it?" I questioned, while looking at them.

"Everything. Young man if you're going to play soccer this afternoon, a healthy, strong breakfast is always required." Uncle Mitch firmly answered, as he went to the kitchen, and cooked up some scrambled eggs with biscuits and gravy.

I ran upstairs to get ready for the big game, however ten minutes later Aunt Mary called me down for breakfast. returning to the kitchen I saw all the delicious food that my aunt and uncle made for us. I thanked them graciously, and we prayed together that today will go great.

"Aunt Mary, where are Mom, Dad, and Mia?" I asked politely.

"They went to police HQ to clear a few unclosed issues." Aunt Mary replied, as she finished her plate, and carried the dishes to the kitchen.

"Here let me help you clean up." I offered, while having a few plates in my hands.

"Why that's very nice of you, Mason however I can finish it myself." Aunt Mary replied, as she continue to clean, and wash the dirty dishes.

After I finished helping out a bit, and eating my uncle drove my to the local park. Surprisingly we actually made it on time, yet Coach Berube still yelled at me (which he does often).

"Mason, where have you been!?!!? You're 10 seconds late!" Coach Berube yelled, as he took a look at his watch.

"Yes, I know! Sorry about that Chief!!!!!" I teased, while sprinting towards the soccer goal. Behind the net a familiar face was tying his shoes.

"Well well well if it isn't the hero of Midwich." A snickering voice said.

"Cole Carlson I should've known. Ready to lose?" I stated with a crushing questioned.

"Heck no. The Mazers are about to be crushed." Cole answered, as he walked away just before Ryan Runty came.

"Any problems boys?" Ryan asked, while walking up to mason.

"No sir. Only talking to the losing side." I taunted back at Cole.

"Enough talking boys, lets start the game!" Ryan replied, while grabbing a soccer ball and headed to midfield. Once both team captains (Cole and Mason) shook hands the referee flipped a coin, we elected to start with the ball, and the match started.

The game started at a slow pace, only a few turnovers in over 10 minutes of playing. However it quickly picked up, after an intentional trip by Cole on Tyson, however Referee Ryan kept the game going.

"Hey Ref call a foul!" I yelled, from the goal line while seeing my teammate down.

"Get up Tyson and don't be such a baby." Cole rudely remarked, as he stood near him.

Referee Ryan ran to the situation blowing his whistle. "What's going on here? Never mind I don't want to hear about it. Both of you go to the sidelines. Resume play." Ryan ordered.

"Hey hold on timeout..timeout." Coach Berube called, as he saw his players coming.

"What happened Tyson?" I asked, while seeing Tyson limping to the bench.

"Cole tripped me, and my ankle could be sprained." Tyson replied with a groan.

"Don't worry put this ice on it, and I've got a plan how to get you back in the game." Coach Berube answered, as he gave the ice pack to Tyson.

Meanwhile...... across the field a lot of commotion was happening.

"What happened son?" Coach Carlson continued. "Did you hurt him?"

"Yeah that wimp, limped to their bench in tremendous pain, but will I be able to play? " Cole stated, with a worried expression.

"Excellent. Don't worry I've got it all figured out." Coach Carlson smiled, as he pulled a hundred dollar bill out of his pocket.

"Great idea, Dad." Cole said, while looking at the money.

A few seconds later.........

"Ryan, may I ask you something?" Coach Carlson asked politely, as the ball went out of play.

"Sure Chase. What's on your mind?" Ryan questioned, after he blew his whistle to halt play.

"Why isn't my son on the field playing? He's our number one player." Coach Carlson sternly answered, with his hand in a pocket.

"As long as number 9 (Cole) isn't hurt, he can play." Ryan continued. "However if you do anything like that again it won't be just a warning."

"He wouldn't dare to do that once more. Cole, you're in!!!" Coach Carlson said, as he pushed the money back in his pocket.

"Yahoo!!!!! You're going down, suckers." Cole rasped at our bench.

I was shocked by the decision that Referee Ryan made to allow Cole back in the game, however we had to play on.

"Hit them with a double side triangle formation." Coach Berube ordered, due to only having nine players on the field.

As the team captain, Mason had to make sure everyone were in their proper positions. Once the game resumed Cole intercepted a pass, and headed towards our goal with a tremendous burst of speed. Cole took a shot, and Mason immediately reacted to it. All the fans rose to their feet as the ball headed towards the net.

With all his ability, Mason jumped towards into the incoming ball, but the only thing that stop it was the back of our goal.

The Owls celebrated like they won, but it was only the first half of the game.

Score 1-0 , Owls (bad guys)

"Well it's looking like we are going to beat your team again." Coach Carlson told our coach.

"The game nor first half aren't even over yet, and you're predicting the future already?." Coach Berube stated with dignity.

Coach Carlson walked back to his bench with confidence, however there's still one whole minute left in the first half.

In the final minute to play (in the first half) continued on. Cody quickly received a pass while going up-field with a few teammates. An amazing quick, thought pass from Cody to Zander lead to a great goal with only a few seconds left in the half. Our fans cheered loudly, however Owls fans overtook it quickly with a long, loud booing.

Score 1-1 (all tied up!!!)

"Looks like the Final Results will tell us which is the winning team after all." Coach Berube said, with a smile. Coach Carlson grumbled, and left to the locker room with his team.

Before heading to the locker room, I looked around at the huge (mostly Owensville) crowd. I saw my family heading from their seats to get some food from a hot dog stand. That's not what grabbed my undivided attention though. While looking around I saw a very familiar face.

"Am I imagining this?" I thought in my mind." Yet it looks so real." I continued thinking, while seeing Maddy Maya in a seat nearby. Though once I walked towards her someone, or something grabbed Maddy and took her out of sight. Mason ran towards the situation sprinting, yet once he got there, Maddy was nowhere in sight and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
