I got up Friday morning and got a backpack full of stuff, like binoculars, flashlights, a compass, maps, climbing gear, and some food as well. Trying to prepare for the upcoming adventures to occur.... "wait this isn't one of my book it's actually happening." Mason thought, while going downstairs to an awaiting Uncle Mitch.
"Well it's my favorite nephew who looks ready to make an impact. I'm glad to see you in one piece. Hopefully those adventures stories haven't impacted your brain." Uncle Mitch jokingly remarked while hugging Mason.
"It's good to see you too, Uncle Mitch. I thought you wouldn't arrive here until Friday wait..... that's today. Oh man look at the time I gotta run I catch you later!!! Great to see ya!" Mason jogged away, but was stopped by his uncle's firm voice.
"Don't forget your lunch, Mason. Also for your information I arrived yesterday however someone wasn't around to greet me? Next time be home for dinner alright?" Uncle Mitch finished his thoughts, as he threw Mason lunch bag towards him.
"Oh look here who's in deep trouble now. Luckily I was around to greet Uncle Mitch, otherwise he'd be sleeping outside." Mia said, as she handed Mason's lunch bag to him after snatching out of mid air.
"Not quite yet Mia, although this is the first and last warning for him." Uncle Mitch told, as he waved bye to them both.
Then I went to school while part ways to connect with Tyson and separated from my annoying sister. Same old routine plays like a clock, math, reading, and writing always dreadful. Luckily around 2 o'clock I decided to skip PE and met up with TheWildBunch. They seemed to be ahead of the game.
Jason and Kane, showed up 10 minutes Later.
"Does everyone have their gear? We'll definitely need this equipment encase danger sparks around us. " I spoke up.
They all while nodding replied ,"Yes." and we were starting to head for the woods until... "Wait for me." yelled Hope.
"What are you doing here?" said Jason.
"I've decided to tag along." Hope demanded, as she slowly started to walk forward.
"Why we are just going hiking." replied Kane very suspiciously.
Hope said, "I know you all are going This Way To Crowder's Caves. To look for the Crowder's Lost Silver Stash."
"Do we even know where that treasure is? I mean bring gear is great, however a map would kinda be essential." I asked the group.
"You guys don't know where your going? It's a good thing I came along." Hope said.
"Now why is that a good thing?" Layton answered back.
"At least when you guys get lost, I'll be lost with you." Hope replied, back to Layton.
"Hope does have a point, but I do have a map of where we're going." Jason said, as I and the rest of the group stared at him.
"Well why didn't say something!" Hope demanded.
"I didn't want to break up the argument with a statement." Jason politely said.
"Jason, does have a point." I stated.
"Oh what do you know, Mason. If Jason told us that he has the map, there wouldn't have been an argument in the first place." Hope determinate answered.
"Hope, has another great point. Boy, if we're keeping score I'd bet Hope would be in the lead." Kane stated.
"Thankfully we're not keeping track of it." Hope responded.
"Let me see now. I think Hope has a score of two good points, and I have a point." Jason answered.
"Jason does have a point." I stated, again to make Hope furious.
"Ugh.... stop giving out points to other people. Can we please go to the caves now." Hope said furiously.
"Look Hope, it may be tricky getting inside that cave. A lot of people say that it's got some traps and tricks to it." I said.
"I'm still going." Hope said. So we let her tag along, but we did not know that some kids we know were following us.
Once we got on the outside of the entrance of the cave, Hope heard footsteps behind us.
"Mason, I heard something or someone." Hope said.
"You must be dreaming." I said, when suddenly the rest of the group heard it too.
"Mason, you may wanna check it out." Layton replied.
"I will." I answered, while retraced our footsteps back towards the only sign between Midwich and Short Meadow city limits.
So while the gang and Hope were walking to the entrance ,
I went back on the trail that we came from, and I saw Tyson and Maddy Maya following our footsteps.
Then all of a sudden, Hope screamed!
I ran into the cave not knowing what to expect. I saw no one was hurt or on the ground.
I puzzled. "Hope, why did you scream so loudly?"
"Because of that." Hope answered back.
I looked and it scared me a little too. It was a maze of deadly traps. Basically entering the maze there was a "fake" trap showing what would happen if someone entered too far. There isn't a way to figure out what's not vs what is a deadly trap. The shapes of all walls were oddly different in some sort, also with the random places that rocks occur you'll never know what's planted behind or beyond them.
"Well that's great. Now what or how are we going to get on the other side?" Kane said.
"Don't ask me, because I have no idea." Layton replied.
"Whoa who ever created this must have been a genius. A loud sneeze could set it of. I'm surprised when Hope yelled it didn't trigger it." I examined it thoroughly, for at the start of this concoction there is a test dummy.
"More like an evil genius if you ask me." Hope remarked.
"Well nobody asked you." Layton responded.
"Why doesn't someone just go past it?" Tyson ordered.
"I have a peculiar feeling that someone wants us to, for this maze has been tampered with. Kane said, while taking a closer look with Mason.
"Hey Tyson why did you and Maddy follow us here?" I asked, as Mason spun around staring at Tyson.
"Wait so they are the ones that 's been trailing us?" Jason replied.
"Yup. I have no idea why though." I told the group.
Maddy stepped up and said. " Look we did mean to scare you and we are sorry, but we just wanted to have a little fun."
"Well, this is great. Now, we two more chances for someone to get hurt." I said firmly.
"Nah. Nobody is going to get hurt." Tyson stated.
"Hurt maybe, lost probably." I worriedly said.
"Guys, enough debating we need to know who is going to go through the traps to shut them off." Kane said.
"Well, we can't let a girl do it." I stated, as I glanced at Maddy.
"I totally agree with Mason's statement." Maddy said, in relief.
"Why don't I go through it?!" Mason told us.
"What!" Mason, you wouldn't get 5 feet. Let me do it." Tyson finished.
However as Lace was passing the map, and instructions how to get past the traps to Tyson I snatched it, grabbed my backpack, and Mason went ahead into The Maze of Traps.
