In the laboratory of Langhammer and his crew located inside the Midwich school department building, something was brewing up a bunch.
"Langhammer what the hell is that awful smell? Are you trying to kill us? We're supposed to be your patients not test dummies." A man stated, while acting calm in front of a peculiar crowd of others.
"Patience Mr. Wadewood my experiment is almost finished. I'm sure to have prominent results momentarily." Langhammer said, as he added a secret ingredient to reduce the awful odor.
"I swear if this doesn't cure what my symptoms my son received I will form a lawsuit against you Mr. Langhammer." Wadewood's wife Jane sternly responded.
"I promise he'll get a real kick out of it. Please don't forget the payment, and Pablo, Sid escort this fine family out of sight immediately. Hank make sure to release that odor a little bit at a time. Thank you once again John for doing business." Langhammer said, while all the final touches were being sorted.
Friday morning, I got up and dressed for another school day. Unfortunately, I didn't finish my homework which is due literally in class about at 9 o'clock, my watched showed half past 7 yikes. I rushed through the pages, scribbling most of it and ran downstairs to get some quick breakfast. I texted Tyson to meet me outside in five, yet he didn't answer. (Hmm, I wonder why or what he's doing) I thought right as I headed out the door.
Uncle Mitch; "Hold it."
I responded. "What uncle? I'm really running late today, please I gotta run.
Uncle Mitch; "How about you finish your breakfast first." He saw me trying to gobble my food like a squirrel with acorns.
I said, "Sure, I guess it won't hurt to take it a little slower. However ten minutes later, I ate all my cereal and went to my uncle and asked, "Anything else?"
Uncle Mitch; "Well I'm going into town to shop for the groceries. Remember than the house key is under the mat on the back porch.
"I know. I'm already fifteen if you don't already know." I shouted from the door.
Uncle Mitch; "I'm not deaf yet you know. Have a nice and without making or causing any trouble at school.
I said, "Do I ever get or cause any kind of trouble?"
Uncle Mitch; "Yes, now get going."
"Yes, sir!" I yelled while running to the garage to grab my bike and I rode to school.
Once I parked and locked my bike to the school's bike rails I looked around the school yard (before school starts) for Tyson. I saw him behind a tree so I went and confronted him.
"Where were you this morning? We always ride our bikes to school together." I shouted.
"Be quiet." Tyson replied.
"What's up? I'm just a wondering why you didn't reply to my message also." Mason replied, while seeing a large bit of white smoke towards the Midwich school's direction.
"What the heck is that white dust? It looks to be coming from our home town." Tyson responded, as he got out a handy dandy pair of binoculars out to have a look see.
"Since where did you start carrying those to school?? I don't believe we have spy class today, actually ever." Mason replied, as he accepted the pair though.
"That smoke almost looks abnormal. Now that's a mystery if I've ever saw one." Tyson commented.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Tyson said.
"Oh, heck yeah" I responded, however Principal Don, walked by so Tyson quickly released the cord and we hide behind a bush. Thankfully, he walked right past it. Which they (Tyson and Mason) are both late for class and sky-gazing.
"Man, that was close." Tyson stated.
"Too close for comfort. Let's get out of here!" I stated.
"No, way now's the best part." Tyson replied, as he examined the grounds and found some inky residue. Although a sneaky Principal Don came up from the shadows saying; " Alright.y who's has done this? I want answers!" He was pointing at the residue that the smoke caused.
Tyson; "I did this. Basically I should say found this... for it would be impossible for me to do something remarkably odd like this." Which the walls on the school's grounds became covered in this ink residue.
Mason; "He confessed so that means I'll just be going to class now."
Maddy; "But, wait why are you here Mason? You could be an accomplice."
Mason; "Maddy, I thought you're on my side."
Hope; "Great job Maddy. I feel a lot like Nancy Drew."
Maddy; "Well (Nancy) you could of help me a little bit more.
Hope; "Helped you? Who found out about this in the first place?"
Mason; "Hope, does have a point."
Maddy; "Be quiet. Who asked you?"
Mason; "You?"
Principal Don; "Girls, Mason, QUIET! After all classes end, I will see you all in my office." Classes took a while from Math to PE. I tried to sneak out after class ended, however Principal Don came towards me.
Principal Don; "Oh Mason you're heading to my office early. Correct?"
I replied. "Yes, oh course sir.
Principal Don; "Good cause someone is not to trilled about what happened. Coach Brad is waiting for you and Tyson." (Oh no) I thought, because the coach said, "we need to practice hard." though I haven't yet.
Back in the lab of Langhammer he was patrolling around making sure his schemes were going according to plan. However he was astonished to find Hank literally toying with the steam/smoke removal pull down switch.
"Hensen. What in tar-nation are you doing fooling around like a child with a toy. We aren't playing games here." Langhammer furiously said, while kicking the chair from underneath his feet.
"UH Uh sorry boss, I'm sure nobody's gonna notice a little bit of smoke eh." Hank mumbled, as he picked up the chair and sat back down eating a sandwich.
"Nobody eh.... Then what the hell do you call this!!! There are literally full scale reporters on the scene at a nearby school where there's irony ink all over." Langhammer yelled, while finding out more and more about what every individual knows. Unfortunately it seems the whole town found out about this outbreak of steam, however they are speculating it was a high end prank by TheWildBunch, a group of boys which made it look like Langhammer's in the clear...... Or is he?
