I started to go fast until "click" I immediately ducked, there were some arrows flying right above me. All the walls seemed to shrink as Mason got deeper and deeper inside. Once I got pasted that I kept going. The maze never seemed to end, inside my mind i felt a tremble about to explode. All of the sudden it the pieces fit together like a perfect thrilling story, for then I stepped on a ground mine.
"Shoot! I'm such a moron rule number one always keep your eyes peeled on the direction you're heading. " I yelled.
"What is it? I didn't realize there are official rules for being on a expedition?" Replied Tyson, with a concerned look.
"Only a land mine." I replied calmly, as Mason tried to keep very still looking at the fine old-fashioned style mine. "Man this is sick..... this mine has to be at least two or three wars ago!!
"WHAT! Mason please don't get yourself killed or I'll have to......" Maddy stated with a scared look on her face.
"I'll definitively keep that in mind, unless I get blow to pieces." Mason jokingly commented back.
"Okay guys keep calm." Continued Lace , "But what are you going to do?
"I don't know. Wait, I've got an idea." Mason replied, as he dug through his backpack carefully without tripping the wire.
"Well, hurry up!" Demanded Hope, for it took him more time than Hope likes.
"Mace, take your time. We wouldn't want you to blow up." Said Kace, concerned about safety. Finally I reached into a pocket pulled a paperclip out and placed it one the trigger of the mine. I slowly stepped away. Than I Mazed Through while running away from the land mine sliding underneath and "BOOM" a whole section of the maze blew up. The groups jaws hit the floor after presuming the worse has happened.
"Mason!!!" Jace yelled, as he, Kace, and Tyson started to run into the maze.Only to be halted by a faint noise.
Mason yelled "Stop. I'm on the other side. Let me disarm everything first, then you'll be able to proceed without being extra cautious."
"You!!! Man how did you survive the blast? Lace asked wondering what's his magic act.
" Oh, I found a big rock and slid behind it. Also you guys can come it's safe now due to I dismantled the traps, surprisingly it's controlled with a level action mechanism." I replied, with many crazy thoughts in my mind. They still proceeded with caution, but easily made it to the other side with Mason.
We (Jason, Kane, Layton, Maddy, Hope, Tyson, and Mason) went deeper into the cave until the path ended with a brick wall. Although this time it seemed very enclosed for the average person's liking, for then suddenly a steel cage closed behind us. The direction we came from was no longer an option of leave.
"Now I feel like an absolute idiot for following these incompetent boys into this trap." Hope remarked, as she sat by the steel gate looking out.
"Sitting down it's going to find a way out of here. There's always a way out isn't that right Mason?" Tyson stated, while pacing the small room.
" Well, we certainly can't go back so lets look for a hidden trapdoor." I replied, while examining the walls beyond the steel gate.
"No shit Sherlock, if only your back had a welder in it we heat could melt the bars and we'd just go back." Layton answered, as he sat down also, yet on the opposite side of the small dark room.
"First lets deal with the light situation, candle me please." Mason replied, as a candle was handed to him by Jason then the room became so much brighter. Mason started pounding the walls looking for the different sound currents.
"Getting angry with the walls isn't going to help us." Kane criticized, yet didn't know the amount of current sound produces.
"Actually when I pound two different sections I can tell whether there's an opening or not." Mason answered, while keeping the pounding up. Within minutes the whole group joined in, and to everyone's surprise a quick discovery was found
"Mason, what's this?" Maddy wondered, as the walls next to each other sounded completely different.
Mason gave it a quick exam by tapping the wall and said. "She's right the wall makes a hollow sound right here." I got out my hammer and hit it as hard as I could. It was a tunnel leading somewhere else.
"Cool." Jace remarked."Let's go explore more, for what are we here waiting then." As he crawled through.
"Let's go! Ladies, go through last! Hope said, yet making sure to grab all his belongings Mason entered last. We all started going but only I noticed that where we came from the trapdoor closed and it became really dark.
"Why is it so dark?" Hope complained. "It's not that far back to that awful trap-room."
"Most likely someone closed the tunnel door that we came from. Unfortunately I don't think we're alone in this cave" Mason replied, as he followed along.
"Wait who's that someone?" Lace said, leading the pack.
"Great now you're saying there are ghosts in these caves." Hope replied, with a distressed voice.
"I don't think it's ghosts. There's something we don't know that are in these caves." Lace answered, although this time predicting the future could be realistic as two dark shadows ran nearby. .
"AHHHHH!" Both girls screamed.
"Please be quiet girls. It's bad enough to be in this hollow, dark caves." Tyson asked.
"It was a bad idea to bring them along, right ,Kace? At least it would have been a lot more discreet." stated Lace, but when he turned where Kace should have been standing he was nowhere insight!! All of the sudden someone vaguely familiar shouted "HELP!!!!" It sounded like Kace. Everyone excited about this commotion wanted to figure out what's going on although Jason, tried running after the noise but I stopped him and said. "If we split up we would get lost."
"Okay, then we need groups of two. That way one person can keep an eye out for the other." Layton commanded, as Mason grabbed three walkies out of his pack.
"Lace, that's basically the same thing as if we were going to split up." Hope replied, still rebuking this insane plan.
"Okay, I'll go with Maddy, Tyson you go with Hope, and Jace goes with Lace." I replied, while Mason passed one walkie talkie to each group.
They all agreed and decided to go separate directions, not knowing the final destiny will they be able to find their buddy Kane before it's too late?!!?!?
