"Banishment!" Ledias yelled as the stone smashed into where Sorvex was. Ledias fell on her knees after she used the spell. That spell was beyond her current power and nearly drained her of all her energy.Sorvex had shut his eyes and waited for his painful death. He felt nothing at first. He was weightless, floating through space and time, and then he fell onto a stone cold floor. "Gah!" he yelped in pain as he fell on his butt, but he was relieved when he felt pain and knew for certain that he was alive. He slowly opened his eyes and looked around. The place he was in felt familiar to him.
"Eek! What are you doing in here!?" a familiar voice asked. Sorvex turned around and saw the friendly face of Zephyr, their cloud giant friend. Sorvex tried to move, but he was paralyzed. He looked at his body and saw golden threads of light encircling his body. These threads of light kept him from moving at all, but he could speak.
"Fire giants!" Sorvex yelled. Zephyr understood and nodded his head. "Can you do anything to help?" he asked.
"I would love to! Believe me! But I can't because it's... it's against my morals and the giant law to kill my own kind," Zephyr answered.
"Well, do you at least have any tips?" Sorvex asked.
"Yes I do! Do you know those myths where they say that a fire giant's weakness is water?" Zephyr asked. Sorvex nodded. "Well, that's not true."
"That's not very helpful."
"Well I don't know much about my kind, and I'm not going down there." Sorvex's body started to glow and the golden threads of light tightened around his body and he was once more sent flying through space and time. Darkness surrounded his sight as he floated weightlessly. Gravity took ahold of his body and he fell to the ground. His sight returned and he saw that he was laying in a crater.
"Thank god you're alright," Ledias said. Sorvex looked up and saw Ledias hovering above his face. "Are you hurt?" she asked. Sorvex shook his head and sat up. He turned to his right and saw Phil taking aim with his crossbow. He fired and the bolt is sent flying directly into the beardless giant's eye. The giant cried in pain and nearly fell back. It pulled out the bolt from his eye and looked around. The giant was now partially blinded and could not see very well.
"Nice shot!" Orinus said and patted Phil on his back. Midnight ran towards the edge of the cliff with his hands glowing with magic. He pointed his fingers towards the damaged giant and ice formed around the giant's feet and made its way up the giant's leg, making it unable to move from the spot. The second giant kept on moving, ignoring his comrade's need for assistance. The orcs on ostriches charged the rest of the party that weren't fighting the giants with spears and swords. Sorvex got up quickly and jumped out of the way, and so did the rest of the party except Ledias. One of the calvary charged Ledias, knocking her great sword next to a burning house and carried her along. The orc cackled in delight as he saw that his prey was a frail girl, or so he thought.
Ledias was being flailed all around like a cloth in a storm. She held onto the ostrich's neck and chanted a prayer. She looked up to the orc and yelled, "Branding Smith!" Her gauntlet glowed with a radiant white and she sent her fist flying towards the orc's jaw. The orc's head got decapitated as her knuckles made contact with his jaw. The head of the orc glowed a bright white as it was sent flying into the crowd of orcs, hitting a few in the head and tossing them aside into the flames.
Ledias fell on the floor and tumbled to the ground. She got up slowly and looked around for her great sword. She saw sparks fly off of a huge blade stuck in the ground next to a burning house. The fire engulfed the blade, slowly turning it red. She ran towards the blade and cast Shield of Faith around herself and charged through the flames. The fire nicked her skin and armor, but it had no effect as her body glowed white with holy energy. She grabbed the sword's handle and pulled it out of the dirt. The blade was now glowing red with intense heat, but it didn't melt. She sheathed it on her back where it wouldn't touch her skin or hair and faced the battle field.
