The building shook slightly, as if something large pushed against the foundations of the place. Paintings fell from the walls and plates crashed onto the floor. The attendees weren't scared of the sudden movement, in fact, they seemed to be more annoyed than scared."It's those stupid crocodiles, ain't it?" one of them said while angrily staring out the window.
"Ugh, I hate those things, can someone kill them?" another asked.
Orinus looked over at the gathering mob. "What's going on?" he asked one of the attendees.
"It's crocodiles that live in the swamp outside. They're probably trying to knock down the mansion to get to the food," the attendee answered.
Orinus sighed and rubbed his head. "Well, aren't you gonna do anything about it?"
"We don't have the manpower to do anything sadly. Wait, aren't you guys adventurers and heroes? Shouldn't you be taking care of the problem?" The man then turned around to face the mob. "Hey guys! We have heroes and adventurers with us! Let's let them take care of the problem."
The mob started chanting for the adventurers to take care of the problem. They swarmed them and yelled at them to kill the crocodiles.
Ledias tried to push away the crowds gently. "We rather not, we're not in the mood right now."
Phil tried to push them away too. "Look, it's just a couple of crocodiles, what's the harm of letting them rub their backs on the support pillars?"
The building shook once more, causing the mobs to yell even louder. The party members were surrounded by the attendees and pushed to the wall.
"I have a suggestion!" a voice called from the back. The mob turned around and faced who spoke. It was Commander Timber.
"Oh no," Phil sighed. He already knew that it wasn't gonna be good.
"How about we assign a quest to these heroes and pay them once they have killed or resolved the problem?" Commander Timber suggested.
Ledias clenched her fist. She was trying her best to hold herself back from punching Timber in the face. "Look, we came here to relax. We've lost so much already, we don't want to go through any more quest on the meantime," Ledias said.
Timber sighed and shook his head. "Fine, you don't want to this quest? That's fine," he said. Ledias looked up at him with hope in her eyes. "Well, it would've been fine if it wasn't an order. With my status as Commander, I order you to resolve the problem in the swamp!"
The crowds cheered while the adventurers expressions turned grim except for the new adventurers. They didn't know what they've been through.
The dwarven emperor, after finishing his peas, walked into the room. "What's with all the ruckus?! I know it's a party, but the amount of yelling and shaking makes this feel more like a mob!" he yelled.
"Ah, emperor, we were chatting about how we should send these... heroes to resolve the problem in the swamp. There's some crocodiles messing around with the support beams, so maybe these adventurers could kill them off," Commander Timber said while bowing.
The adventurers looked at the emperor for help. Most of them didn't want to do this quest.
The emperor scratched his crotch. "Well, it could provide some entertainment for us and take care of that crocodile problem we've been having for a while," he answered.
